After the 2007 success with Dimitry Koldun’s “Work your magic” written by Philip Kirkorov  reaching Number 6 in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, Belarus’s 2008 Eurovision Song Contest entry was by Ruslan Alehno. His song “Hasta la vista” started off in Semi Final 2 as Number 9, however, only received 27 points ranking Belarus at Number 17 in the Semi Final 2 when only the Top 10 qualify for the Grand Final.
