Switzerland decided for an Italian song to be performed in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade. Paolo Meneguzzi was recruited to sing for Switzerland. Paolo who has a lot o experience participating at various music competitions such as the San Remo Song Festival which is Italy's answer to and the founding idea of the Eurovision Song Contest. The song that will represent Switzerland this year is called "Era Stupendo" and will be performed by Paolo Meneguzzi at Number 7 in the Semi Final 2 on Thursday, 22 May 2008.
