Radio International goes to Sweden (Part 1)

Image (19 March 2008) And this week Radio International goes to Sweden to take a closer look at the Melodifestivalen 2008 which was staged in Stockholm's Globen Arena in Sweden. 13000 people filled the sold out Globen getting ready to select the song and the artist that will represent Sweden at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. There were 3500 songs submitted alone in Sweden out of which the best ones had to pass one of the four Semi Finals before the last ten songs competed on Saturday 15 March 2008. The winner became Charlotte Perrelli with the song "Hero" which will be competing in Belgrade. Charlotte already took victory for the Swedish nation back in 1999 with the song "Take me to your heaven". She then was known as Charlotte Nilsson. Congratulations Sweden.
