Hightlights of the show

ImageA Eurovision Summer 2017:  The Summer of 2017 is drawing to a close and Radio International wants to keep Eurovision music in the ears of the many fans around the Eurovision World in a very special way. The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place in Kyiv's International Exhibition Centre, Ukraine on 09 & 11 May 2017 with the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final on Saturday, 13 May 2017. Congratulations go to Salvador and Luisa Sobral for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Portugal for the very first time with the song "Amar pelos dois (Love for both of us)". Enjoy and let's look forward as - the next Eurovision is around the corner, in fact 08, 10 and 12 May 2018 from the Arena MEO in Lisabon, Portugal as recently announced. :)
 
Image Interview with Rui Andrade (Russia 2014, Backing Vocalist and National Finalist 2011, 2012 and 2014): After three attempts in the Portuguese National Final in 2011, 2012 and 2014 Rui Andrade finally made it to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 but not for Portugal but being backing vocalist in the Russian entry performed by the former Junior Eurovision Winners for Russia in 2016 when the Tolmachevy Twins performed the song "Vesna".  Rui Andrade had three attempts in the Portuguese National Final called Festival da Cancao trying to get the ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest. In all three occasions he came third. In 2011 with "Em Nome do Amor", "Amor a preto e branco" in 2012 and "Ao teu encontro" in 2014. On 06 September 2017 Rui has released a new song entitled "Confia Em Mim (Know me better)" which is also a song from the album by Fabrizio Faniello.(Malta 2001 and 2006). Rui will be chatting with JP live on this week's edition of Radio International about the new release of the song and the video but also Radio International and the fans want to know if Rui will be playing a role in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 coming from Lisbon in 2018.  You can hear this interview on this week's edition of Radio International.Further information about Rui and the new song can be viewed here.
 
Image Interview with Valentina Monetta and Jimmie Wilson (San Marino 2017):  San Marino first participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 but since then never managed to qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest until 2014 when Valentina Monetta in her third consecutive attempt passed from the Semi Final with the song "Maybe" written by Mauro Ballestri and composed by Ralph Siegel. In the Grand Final it reached Number 24. The same team already tried it in 2012 with the "Socia Network Song" and also in 2013 with "Crisalide" which both failed to qualify for the Grand Final. In 2017, Valentina made a comeback to the stage of th Eurovision Song Contest with the help of Jimmie Wilson who was discovered by Ralph Siegel in Germany. The song was called "Spirit of the Night" which represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 unfortunately, only reaching Number 18 in Semi Final 2. ImageInterview with Fusedmarc (Lithuania 2017):  Closing out the series of interviews from the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev, Ukraine the last interview left for broadcast is with Lithuania's successful selling band called Fusedmarc. The group represented Lithuania with the song "Rain of Revolution" which unfortunately, did only reach Number 17 in Semi Final 2 and with this not qualifying for the participation in the Grand Final. Eugene and JP of Radio International talked to Lithuania's hopeful act during the rehearsal week in the Press Centre in Kiev. Listen to the interview on this week's edition of Radio International. ImageLocalitour d'Autore with Jalisse:  Jalisse represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 reaching Number 4 with "Fiumi di parole". Meanwhile Jalisse (Fabio and Alessandra) have been busy with many projects and new music plus supporting young talented artists as well as hosting their own radio show. ImageEurovision Spotlight - The Show Starters at the Eurovision Song Contest:  As every year the Radio International Eurovision Experts were brainstorming what should be the summer feature during Eurovision Radio International throughout the summer of 2017 and the team thought let's reflect on the songs that started off the Eurovision Song Contest in each year. 62 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were staged over the years and there has to be always the first song in the Running Order of the Eurovision Song Contest. Ross Bennett continues the series. It will be nice to hear some long forgotten classics again on the show in the weeks to come.  
 
ImageEurovision Under Cover:  This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link.

ImageEurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. ImageNew Song Releases by Eurovision Artists Radio International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being featured on the show.

ImageEurovision Quiz:  Scratch your heads and bite your nails at  our weekly Eurovision Song Contest Quiz. Good luck and win a copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the Eurovision Goodies Bag. All you have to do is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send your answers via the website's CONTACTs form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate in the quiz and the draw for the prize. Good Luck!
