Hightlights of the show  A Eurovision Summer 2017: The
Summer of 2017 is underway and Radio International wants to keep
Eurovision music in the ears of the many fans around the Eurovision World. The
Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place in Kyiv's International
Exhibition Centre, Ukraine on 09 & 11 May 2017 with the two Semi
Finals and the Grand Final on Saturday, 13 May 2017. Congratulations go
to Salvador and Luisa Sobral for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Portugal for the very first time with the song "Amar pelos dois (Love for both of us)".

Eurovision is around the corner, in fact 08, 10 and 12 May 2018 from the
Arena MEO in Lisabon, Portugal as recently announced. :)
 Live Interview with The Eurovision Cruise 2017 Organiser - Jouni Pihkakorpi: It is just around the corner when the Eurovision Cruise takes place this weekend 02 & 03 September 2017 when the Silja Europa ferry cruise liner crosses the Baltic Sea from Helsinki to Tallin with over 2000 fans aboard plus two Eurovision Winners: Ruslana (Ukraine 2004) and Alexander Rybak (Norway 2009). Further the Sunstroke Project (Moldova 2017 and 2010) as well as Norma John (Finland 2017) and more. Radio International's JP is joined in the studio by prime organiser as well as President of OGAE Finland Jouni Pihkakorpi to chat about the event that now has been going on for many years.
 Interview with O Torvald (Ukraine 2017): Slowly coming to an end are the interviews that theTeam of Radio International did during the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The host nation was represented by O.Torvald who for the occasion of the Eurovision Song Contest performed a song for the very first time in English. Since Ukraine was the host of Eurovision 2017, the country is directly qualified for the Grand Final. There the song "Time" received 36 points and with that ranking at Number 24 at the end of the voting sequence. JP had the pleasure to chat with the lead vocalist of O.Torvald - Genia at the venue but as well as during a city tour of Kyiv. Listen to this interview on the show this week.  Interview with Jana Burčeska (Macedonia 2017): For the 5th year in a row Macedonia did not qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with the last one being Kaliopi with "Crno e Belo" in 2012 in Baku. This year Macedonia sent in young Jana Burčeska who performed the song "Dance alone" which received 69 points in Semi Final 2 ranking Macedonia at Number 15 in the Semi Final when only the Top Ten advance into the Grand Final.  Localitour d'Autore with Jalisse: Jalisse represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 reaching Number 4 with "Fiumi di parole". Meanwhile Jalisse (Fabio
and Alessandra) have been busy with many projects and new music plus

 Eurovision Spotlight - The Show Starters at the Eurovision Song Contest: As every
year the Radio International Eurovision Experts were
brainstorming what should be the summer feature during Eurovision Radio
International throughout the summer of 2017 and the team thought let's
reflect on the songs that started off the Eurovision Song Contest in
each year. 62 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were staged over
the years and there has to be always the first song in the Running Order
of the Eurovision Song Contest. Alasdair Rendall continues the series. It will be nice to hear some long forgotten classics again on the show in the weeks to come.  Eurovision Under Cover: This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich
will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest
entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing
the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the
cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in
their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the
other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in
their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link.
 Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins
the team in the studio every week to bring you the news
and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest
such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision
performers, special
concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly
edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics
such as viewing figures in the various countries and more.

International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International

closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the
Eurovision Goodies Bag. All you
have to do
is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send
your answers via the website's CONTACTs
form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz
after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the
listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate
