Hightlights of the show
A Eurovision Summer 2017: The
Summer of 2017 is underway and Radio International wants to keep
Eurovision music in the ears of the many fans around the Eurovision World. The
Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place in Kyiv's International
Exhibition Centre, Ukraine on 09 & 11 May 2017 with the two Semi
Finals and the Grand Final on Saturday, 13 May 2017. Congratulations go
to Salvador and Luisa Sobral for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Portugal for the very first time with the song "Amar pelos dois (Love for both of us)".

Eurovision is around the corner, in fact 08, 10 and 12 May 2018 from the
Arena MEO in Lisabon, Portugal as recently announced. :)
Eurovision Weekend in Berlin 2017: The
Eurovision Weekend in Berlin took place from Friday 14 - Sunday 16
July 2017. The event was partnered between OGAE Malta and OGAE Germany
and international fans attended a fun weekend in Germany's capital. On
the guest list were Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012), Claudia Faniello (Malta 2017) and the event is co-hosted by Glen Vella (Malta 2011). Further there was the runner up to the Germany National Selection "Unser Song 2017" - Axel Maximilian Feige. But also special guest is this year's Musical Ambassador to the Czech Republic: Martina Barta who performed the song " My Turn"
at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. Over the coming weeks
Radio International will broadcast interviews with the artists from this
event but also listen out for interviews with the J'aime la Vlie 2017
artists on the show in the next weeks and the remaining interviews from Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv..
Interview with Martina Barta (Czech Republic 2017):
Last July the Berlin Eurovision Weekend 2017 and Martina Barta who represented the Czech Republic 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine was also part of the guest line up of the event organised by Eurovision Club and OGAE Germany as well as OGAE Malta. Marta gave an entire concert on Sunday lunchtime as part of the Sunday Brunch and also came to the official opening on Saturday afternoon where JP had the pleasure to interview Martina about her Eurovision particiation as well as her career and link to Berlin. Martina represented the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 reaching Number 13 in Semi Final 1 with the song " My Turn" and with this failed to qualify her country for the Grand Final. You can hear this interview on Radio International this week.
Interview with Aarzemnieki (Latvia 2014): The Dutch Eurovision event J'aime la Vlie 2017 took place end of June 2017 on the Dutch island Vlieland (details see above) and part of the line-up was Latvia's Musical Ambassadors Aarzemnieki who represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song " Cake to Bake" which came 13th in Semi Final 1 in Copenhagen's Ship Yard venue. Since 2014 the band reformed and three members of the band came to the Netherlands to be part of this event also to promote their music. JP had a pleasure again to chat with the crazy bunch of guys from Latvia, although none of them are Latvians :). You can hear this interview on Radio International this week.
EUROSTARZ 2017: This Saturday, 19 August 2017 sees the second edition of EUROSTARZ which
is a new and upcoming Eurovision event in the heart of London, United
Kingdom with many Eurovision artists performing at this event in
London's Star of Kings, Kings Cross with the participation of Anne Marie David (Luxembourg 1973), Karl William Lund (NF 2016, United Kingdom), Anjeza Shahini (Albania 2004), Mihai Traistariu (Romania 2006), Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012) and Salena Mastroianni (NF 2017, United Kingdom). Localitour d'Autore with Jalisse: Jalisse represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 reaching Number 4 with " Fiumi di parole". Meanwhile Jalisse (Fabio
and Alessandra) have been busy with many projects and new music plus
supporting young talented artists as well as hosting their own radio
show. Each week Radio International is delighted to broadcast the Song of the Week from the Italian Independed Music

Eurovision Spotlight XXL with Marcus Keppel-Palmer - The Eurovision Lord: Radio International interrupts the current series and brings you the Eurovision Stoplight XXL with Lord Marcus - The Eurovision Lord this week as a special summer feature when Marcus picked some great Eurovision entries through the decades and introduces them to the fans. Many long forgotten classics. The entire third hour is devoted to this special summer feature on Radio International this week.
NEXT WEEK: As every
year the Radio International Eurovision Experts were
brainstorming what should be the summer feature during Eurovision Radio
International throughout the summer of 2017 and the team thought let's
reflect on the songs that started off the Eurovision Song Contest in
each year. 62 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were staged over
the years and there has to be always the first song in the Running Order
of the Eurovision Song Contest. Dermot Manning continues the series next week. It will be nice to hear some long forgotten classics again on the show in the weeks to come.
Eurovision Under Cover: This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich
will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest
entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing
the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the
cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in
their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the
other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in
their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link.
Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins
the team in the studio every week to bring you the news
and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest
such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision
performers, special
concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly
edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics
such as viewing figures in the various countries and more.

New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists: Radio
International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the

have to do
is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send

form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz
after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the
listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate
