Hightlights of the show

ImageA Eurovision Summer 2017:  The Summer of 2017 has official begun and Radio International wants to keep Eurovision music in the ears of the many fans around the Eurovision. Also there are still some interviews from Eurovision 2017 left for broadcast which you will hear on the show in the weeks to come.The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place in Kyiv's International Exhibition Centre, Ukraine on 09 & 11 May 2017 with the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final on Saturday, 13 May 2017. Congratulations go to Salvador and Luisa Sobral for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Portugal for the very first time with the song "Amar pelos dois (Love for both of us)". Over the next few weeks into the summer of 2017 Radio International provides the perfect Post Eurovision Depression Cure (PED) and broadcasts many of the interviews on the shows to come with the Eurovision artists from Kyiv and more. Enjoy and don't be sad - the next Eurovision is around the corner, in fact 08, 10 and 12 May 2018 from the Arena MEO in Lisabon, Portugal as recently announced. :)
 
Image Eurovision Weekend in Berlin 2017: The Eurovision Weekend in Berlin took place from Friday 14 - Sunday 16 July 2017. The event was partnered between OGAE Malta and OGAE Germany and international fans attended a fun weekend in Germany's capital. On the guest list were Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012), Claudia Faniello (Malta 2017) and the event is co-hosted by Glen Vella (Malta 2011). Further there was the runner up to the Germany National Selection "Unser Song 2017" - Axel Maximilian Feige. But also special guest is this year's Musical Ambassador to the Czech Republic: Martina Barta who performed the song "My Turn" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. Over the coming weeks Radio International will broadcast interviews with the artists from this event but also listen out for interviews with the J'aime la Vlie 2017 artists on the show in the next weeks and the remaining interviews from Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv..

Image Interview with Claudia Faniello (Malta 2017):  Malta's Claudia Faniello tried with ten songs to win the Malta Eurovision Song Contest which is the selection process to find out the song and artist who will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest. At long last it paid out as Claudia Faniello won the Maltese national final earlier on in February with the song "Breathlessly" which unfortunately did not qualify Malta for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 Grand Final and remained in Semi Final 2 at Number 16. Claudia was part of the lineup of the Berlin Eurovision Weekend 2017 mid July 2017 and gave a fabulous concert to the many international fans gathering for this event in Germany's capital. Radio International's David Mann caught up with Claudia Faniello after her soundcheck in Berlin. You can hear this interview on Radio International this week.
 
ImageLive Interview with Jolanda Becker (South African Singer):  At the recent Berlin Eurovision Weekend 2017 which was partnered between EC Germany, OGAE Germany and OGAE Malta, Claudia Faniello was interviewed and at the end a surprise came on when the organisers played back a brand new cover version of Claudia's 2017 Eurovision entry "Breathlessly" which was covered by South African Singer Jolanda Becker. The song is performed in Africaans and is called  "Asemloos". Jolanda will be joining JP on the show this week to tell her story about covering this song. Watch out there is a surprise coming on!!! :)

Meanwhile Jalisse (Fabio and Alessandra) have been busy with many projects and new music plus supporting young talented artists as well as hosting their own radio show. ImageEurovision Spotlight - The Show Starters:  As every year the Radio International Eurovision Experts were brainstorming what should be the summer feature during Eurovision Radio International throughout the summer of 2017 and the team thought let's reflect on the songs that started off the Eurovision Song Contest in each year. 62 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were staged over the years and there has to be always the first song in the Running Order of the Eurovision Song Contest. This week Alasdair Rendall continues the series. It will be nice to hear some long forgotten classics again on the show in the weeks to come.  
 
ImageEurovision Under Cover:  This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link.

ImageEurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. ImageNew Song Releases by Eurovision Artists Radio International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being featured on the show.

ImageEurovision Quiz:  Scratch your heads and bite your nails at  our weekly Eurovision Song Contest Quiz. Good luck and win a copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the Eurovision Goodies Bag. All you have to do is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send your answers via the website's CONTACTs form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate in the quiz and the draw for the prize. Good Luck! Congratulations go to Alexsander Sanchez from Spain for winning the Quiz from 21 June 2017.
