Hightlights of the show
A Eurovision Summer 2017: The Summer of 2017 has official begun and Radio International wants to keep Eurovision music in the ears of the many fans around the Eurovision. Also there are still some interviews from Eurovision 2017 left for broadcast which you will hear on the show in the weeks to come. The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place in Kyiv's International
Exhibition Centre, Ukraine on 09 & 11 May 2017 with the two Semi
Finals and the Grand Final on Saturday, 13 May 2017. Congratulations go
to Salvador and Luisa Sobral for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Portugal for the very first time with the song "Amar pelos dois (Love for both of us)".
Over the next few weeks into the summer of 2017 Radio International
provides the perfect Post Eurovision Depression Cure (PED) and
broadcasts many of the interviews on the shows to come with the
Eurovision artists from Kyiv and more. Enjoy and don't be sad - the next
Eurovision is around the corner. :)
Interview with Isaiah Firebrace (Australia 2017): Australia's third participation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 was by young Isaiah who won Australia's 8th edition of the X-Factor. Isaiah performed the song " Don't come easy" in Kyiv during the Eurovision Song Contest and came 9th after the voting sequence at the end of the contest. JP and Eugene met the singer in the delegation hotel for an interview which airs on Radio International this week.

Interview with Tamara Gachechiladze (Georgia 2017): Georgia's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 was by Tamara Gachechiladze with the song " Keep the Faith" which unfortunately did not qualify Georgia for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Though it almost qualified for the Grand Final as it ranked 11th in the Semi Final when only the Top Ten advance into the Grand Final. The song sounds very much like a James Bond Movie Theme. Tamara was part of the group that won the national final in Georgia back in 2009 when Georgia was disqualified with the song "We don't wanna put in" performed by Stephane and 3G. In 2017, it was Tamara's turn to represent Georgia and JP with Eugene met Tamara during the rehearsal weeks in Kyiv for an interview. Listen to this interview on the show this week. Interview with Eduard Romanyuta (Moldova 2015): Although being of Ukrainian decent Eduard Romanyuta represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song " I want your love" back in Vienna. The song - like Georgia 2017 - only ranked 11th in the Semi Final 1 which failed to qualify Moldova for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. However, Eduard has been to the Eurovision Live Concert in 2015 and also appeared at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 Press Centre where Radio International's JP and Eugene had the pleasure of an interview with the young singer. Listen to this interview on this week's edition of the show. You can also watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here
Eurovision Spotlight - The Eurovision Show Starters: As every year the
Radio International Eurovision Experts were
brainstorming what should be the summer feature during Eurovision Radio
International throughout the summer of 2017 and the team thought let's
reflect on the songs that started off the Eurovision Song Contest in
each year. 62 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were staged over
the years and there has to be always the first song in the Running Order
of the Eurovision Song Contest. This week Dermot Manning starts off the new series. It will be nice to hear some long forgotten classics again on the show in the weeks to come.
Eurovision Under Cover: This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich
will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest
entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing
the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the
cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in
their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the
other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in
their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link.

the team in the studio every week to bring you the news
and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest
such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision
performers, special
concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly
edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics
such as viewing figures in the various countries and more.
