to Salvador and Luisa Sobral for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Portugal for the very first time with the song "Amar pelos dois (Love for both of us)".

Eurovision is around the corner. :)
Interview with Brendan Murray (Ireland 2017): So far the must most successful nation winning the Eurovision Song Contest is Ireland with seven victories followed by Sweden with six victories. However, in recent years Ireland have not done well at the Eurovision Song Contest with four non-qualifications or low ranking in the Grand Final. Also this year unfortunately Ireland did not do well with young Brendan Murray who was nominated to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Dying to Try" which ranked 13th in the second Semi Final in Kyiv when only the Top Ten advance into the Grand Final. JP and Eugene met the young Irish singer for an interview during the rehearsal week in the Press Centre. Listen to this interview on this week's edition of Radio International. You can also watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here
Interview with Martina Barta (Czech Republic 2017): In 2016 the Czech Republic qualified for the Grand Final for the very first time with Gabriela Guncikova and the song "I stand" ranking at Number 25 at the end of the voting sequence. The Czech Republic's musical ambassador Martina Barta tried the same with a similar song called "My Turn" which unfortunately did not go the same way as in 2016. The Czech Republic placed 13th in Semi Final 1 when only the Top Ten advance for the Grand Final. Despite a hard day of rehearsals, press conferences and interviews Martina chatted with JP about her career and the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Listen to this interview on the show this week. Due to lack of time this interview will be broadcast on next week's edition of Radio International.
Interview with Lindita (Albania 2017): It was Albania's 14th participation in the Eurovision Song Contest with Lindita performing the song "World" which unfortunately did not qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Although, Lindita is a great singer, the song only ranked at Number 14 in Semi Final 1. So far Albania had seven qualifications for the Grand Final with the most successful being in 2012 with Rona Nishliu and the song "Suus". JP had the pleasure to meet and interview Lindita during the rehearsal week in the Press Centre in Kyiv. You can hear this interview on the show this week. You can also watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here
Interview with Manel (Spain 2017): Spains representative to the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 was Manel performing the song "Do it for your lover"
which unfortunately ended last on the Eurovision 2017 Scoreboard at the
end of the Jury's Vote and the Public Vote. Spain is part of the Big
Five and with this automatically qualfied for the Grand Final. However,
enjoy the interview that Eugene and JP of Radio International did with
the young singer from sunny Spain. You can also watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here
