Eurovision Song Contest 2017 - Preview Events: The National
Final Season for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is over and now
various countries offer the Eurovision Pre-view events such as
Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam, London Preview Event, Israel Calling, Madrid's Eurovision Party
and also the Riga Eurovision Party. On Saturday, 09 April 2017 was Eurovision in Concert 2017 and Radio
International's David Mann, Alasdair Rendall and JP were on location in Amsterdam and conducted
interviews with the
artists representing their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017
in Kiev, Ukraine come May. Listen to these interviews on the show this
week and the weeks to come.
Interview with Francesco Gabbani (Italy 2017): Since Italy's return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 the boot country has done extremely well will Top 10 rankings in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with great artists such as Il Volo and Marco Mengoni and now in 2017 Francesco Gabbani will be waving the Flag for Italy on stage together with an ape when he performs his song "Occidentali's Karma" which is tippoed to be the winning entry of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Italy is part of the Big 5 and with that directly qualified for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Francesco has been to Eurovision in Concert 2017 in Amsterdam and that is where JP chatted with the singer. and you car hear this interview on

Interview with Robin Bengtsson (Sweden 2017): The Winner of Melodifestivalen 2017 and with this title also Sweden's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 - is Robin Bengtsson with the song "I can't go on" which initially in it's Semi Final included foul language but for the Grand Final the song was cleaned up. Robin started in the Swedish version of IDOLS in 2008 which was won by Maltese Kevin Borg and Robin ended up third in this edition of IDOLS. Robin entered "Contellation Prize" into Melodifestivalen 2016 and successfully came directly into the Grand Final where it reached Number 5. Sweden's hopeful is to bring another victory for Eurovision Producer Extra-ordinaire Christer Bjoerkman as then Sweden would have also seven Eurovision wins such as Ireland. Robin will ll be opening up Eurovision 2017 in Semi Final 1 on Tuesday, 09 May 2017 as Song Number 1. Radio International's David Mann and JP met Robin at the London Eurovision Preview Event early April for an update since JP already taked to Robin during the Melodifestivalen 2017 rehearsal week. Interview with Levina (Germany 2017):
Emerging from a very confusing national final in Germany on ARD TV Levina won our of the 5 contestants and then she had to compete both songs against each other. The winner was "Perfect Life" which won the televoting in Germany at the end. Levina is a great and tall singer as well and lives partly in London and Berlin, Germany. Germany is part of the Big 5 and with this qualified directly for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Levina also took part at the London Eurovision Preview event on 02 April 2017 when Radio

}Interview with Naviband (Belarus 2017): The happy and funny couple Naviband are representing Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Historyja majho ˛yccia" and will compete in Semi Final 2 at Song 15. Ally and JP met Naviband during Eurovision in Concert 2017 for a short interview and their musical talents which you can hear on this week's edition of Radio International and you can also watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here
Interview with Timebelle (Switzerland 2017): Starting in Semi Final 2 at Song Number 14 is Switzerland's Hopefulls Timebelle who tried previously in the Swiss National Final to obtain the ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest but at the second attempt it worked. The song is called "Apollo". Hopefully this will bring Switzerland back into the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. The last time that happened was back in 2014 with Sebalter. Interview with Anja Nissen (Denmark 2017): In 2016 Denmark failed to qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with Lighthouse X. Hopefully, the winner of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2017 Anja Nissen will be able to correct this situation with getting Denmark qualified for the Grand Final with her song "Where I am" which competes in Semi Final 2 at Song 9 on Tuesday 09 May 2017. Interview with Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria 2017): After the huge success of Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with Poli Genova and "If love was a crime" reaching an amazing Number 4 in Stockholm last year, Bulgaria sends in 17 year old Kristian Kostov to represent his country with the song "Beautiful Mess"
which will be performed in Semi Final 2 at song Number 16. Kristian was
also part of the London Preview Event 2017 on 02 April 2017 and JP
chatted with the youngest singer at the Eurovision Song Contest
2017. Kristian also was part of the Eurovision in Concert 2017 and there David Mann got an update which you can hear on the show this week.

International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

have to do
is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send

form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz
after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the
listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate
