Interview with Aminata (Latvia 2015): After 20 artists went
through two Heats, a Semi Final and a Final the winner of the SUPERNOVA 2015
became Aminata who represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria with the song "Love injected" which came 6th in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Aminta is
also a songwriter and has among others also written "Heartbeat"
performed by Justs as the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm last
May reaching Number 15. Before Eurovision 2016 Aminata went to the
London Preview Event where Radio International's David Mann had the
pleasure to chat with her. Listen to this interview on this week's
edition of Radio International.
Interview with Sean Banan (Melodifestivalen 2012 and 2013, Sweden): After
Melodifestivalen 2016 in the Friends Arena near Stockholm there is
always an amazing Aftershow Party where the current and previous artists
that took part in Melodifestivalen pay a visit and celebrate the music.
Also this year there was no exception as Sean Banan appeared at the
Aftershow Party. In 2012 Sean Banan took part for the first time in
Melodifestivalen with the song "Sean de Foerste Banan" which unfortunately did not make it into the Final in 2012. However, in 2013 Sean Banan's offering "Copacabanana"
made it straight to the Final from the Semi Final. He delivered a
brilliant show in the Final and with this ended up at Number 6 of
Melodifestivalen 2013. Eric and JP chatted with the funny singer and
actor during the Aftershow Party of Melodifestivalen 2016. Enjoy this
interview in this week's edition of Radio International. You can also watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here
Interview with Dinah Nah (Melodifestivalen 2015, Number 12): Like Sean Banan, Dinah Nah was part of the Aftershow Party of Melodifestivalen 2016, although she took part the year previously in 2015 with the song "Make me la la" which came 12th in the Final of Melodifestivalen 2015. Eric had the pleasure to chat with Dinah Nah during the Aftershow Party. Have a listen on the show this week. You can also watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here
Interview with Dunja (Junior Eurovision 2016, Serbia, Number 17): This year, Serbia was represented at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 by the young Dunja and her team with a song that was written by Vladimir Graic called "Uh la la la".
Vladimir is a huge composer and musician in Serbia and is responsible
among other hits for the winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest
2007 "Molitva" performed by Marija Serifovic. Unfortunately,
Dunja only reached Number 17 in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016
with this catch ear-worm song "Uh la la la". JP had the pleasure
to speak with Dunja and her team after her Press Conference. Listen to
this interview on this week's edition of Radio International. Please note that due to lack of time the broadcast of this interview is postponed to January 2017. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Eurovision 2017 - The National Final Season: Armenia: JP will be joined on this week's edition of Radio International by Olivier Vanhoutten who will be talking to us about the national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Armenia. Also we will be going through some of the Armenian Eurovision History.
Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Chris Poppe's Favourite National Final Songs: Two weeks ago we finished the mini series on Radio International as
our Eurovision correspondents took a look at the Eurovision entries from
Ukraine since Ukraine will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2017
following Jamala's victory in Stockholm at the 61st edition of the contest with the song "1944".
Ukraine initially won the Eurovision Song
Contest in 2004 after their second attempt as Ukraine only joined the
Eurovision family back in 2003. The Winning Song of Ukrain's first
victory was "Wild Dances" performed by Ruslana when the
Eurovision Song Contest 2004 came from Istanbul, Turkey. Just recently,
it was decided that the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will be hosted once
again by Ukraine's capital city Kiev on May 09 & 11 for the Semi
Final 1 and 2 and the Grand Final to take place on May 13. Last week
Ally Rendall played his favourite entries from the Eurovision Song
Contest 2005 as Kiev was the host city back then and this week the
Eurovision Spotlight does something completely different. As it being
the last Eurovision Spotlight of 2016 Chris Poppe of Radio
International will be taking a look at some of his personal favourites
of the National Finals to the Eurovision Song Contest. In the first editions of Radio International of 2017 we will be starting the National Final Season 2017.
Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics such as viewing figures in the various countries and more. Nathan is website editor with escxtra.com. New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists: Radio
International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.
