Hightlights of the show
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 - The Recap (Part 1):
This week is a
rather special edition of Radio
International as members of the Team are in Malta - the Home of
the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The 14th edition
of the
Junior Eurovision Song Contest was in Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC) on 20 November 2016, 1600 hours CET
with the participation of 17 countries: Albania,
Armenia, Australia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, FYRO Macedonia, Georgia,
Ireland, Israel, Italy, Malta, Poland, Russia, Serbia, The Netherlands
and Ukraine. The show was hosted by Valerie Vella and Bed Camille and
they had the honours to also announce the Winner of the Junior
Eurovision Song Contest 2016 being Mariam Mamadashvili from Georgia with the song " Mzeo".
It is also the third time that Georgia won the contest. The previous
two times when Georgia won theJunior Eurovision where in 2008 and 2011.
This year's theme song
of the event is " #Embrace" sung by last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest Winner for Malta - Destiny. Consult the official event's website Junior Eurovision Song Contest for all the latest news concerning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Interview with Jedward (Ireland 2011 and 2012): The crazy twin brothers John & Edward Grimes collectively known as JEDWARD were
part of the Junior Euroviison Song Contest 2016 Expert Jury as well as
performing as interval act during the show. Jedward represented Ireland
twice at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2011 when " Lipstick" came 8th and in 2012 " Waterline" came 19th. JP had the pleasure of a face to face interview with the crazy guys which you can hear on this

Interview with Valerie Vella and Ben Camille (Junior Eurovision 2016, Hosts):
Poli Genova hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia,
Bulgaria and before that it was Moira Delia hosting the 2014 edition of
the contest from the Marsa Shipyard in Malta but this year the show was
hosted by two fantastic hosts. Valerie Vella and Ben Camille.
Valerie has a lot of experience in the world of Eurvision and Junior
Eurovision and during the interview you hear more details about that.
Ben Camille, a model in Malta but also a soap opera actor on Maltese TV
first appeared on the Eurovision scene when he hosted the Malta
Eurovision Song Contest 2016 earlier on in 2016 but also was seen as
spokesperson announcing the Maltese votes last May in Stockholm. Radio
International had the pleasure to chat with both just before the start
of the Dress Rehearsal of the 14th Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Enjoy

Interview with Zena Donnelly (Junior Eurovision 2016, Ireland, Number 10):
2016 was the second time that Ireland took part at the Junior
Eurovision Song Contest with the young Zena Donnelly who came to fame in
a Whitney Houston concert some years ago when she had the chance to
sing with Whitney. Zena came second in the 2015 national selection of
Ireland to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. But this year she won the
national final and with this the ticket to represent Ireland in Malta
at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Brice Ar
Bhrice" (Brick by Brick) which came 10th with a total of 122 points.

Interview with Sofia Rol (Junior Eurovision 2016, Ukraine, Number 14): Representing
the Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was Sofia Rol
with the song "Planet craves for love" which she performed in Malta and
received a total of 30 points thus ranking her at Number 14 at the end
of the voting sequence on the night. Before that and after the Ukrainian
Press Conference JP had the pleasure of an interview with the
young singer and her dancers. Enjoy

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Ukraine's History at the Eurovision Song Contest:
This week starting a brand new series on Radio International as
our Eurovision correspondents take a look at the Eurovision entries from
Ukraine since Ukraine will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2017
following Jamala's victory in Stockholm at the 61st edition of the contest with the song " 1944".
Ukraine initially won the Eurovision Song
Contest in 2004 after their second attempt as Ukraine only joined the
Eurovision family back in 2003. The Winning Song of Ukrain's first
victory was " Wild Dances" performed by Ruslana when the
Eurovision Song Contest 2004 came from Istanbul, Turkey. Just recently,
it was decided that the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will be hosted once
again by Ukraine's capital city Kiev on May 09 & 11 for the Semi
Final 1 and 2 and the Grand Final to take place on May 13. Taking a
final look at the history of Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest and
closing out the mini

Eurovision Under Cover: This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich
will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest
entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing
the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the
cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in
their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the
other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in
their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link.
Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins
the team in the studio every week to bring you the news
and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest
such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision
performers, special
concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly
edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics
such as viewing figures in the various countries and more.

New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists: Radio
International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the
