Interview with Dana International (Eurovision Winner 1998, Israel): At the recent Antwerp Pride in Belgium Radio International had the big pleasure to meet the Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 and probably the reason for the change of the Eurovision Song Contest's development to what it is now. JP and a bunch of other journalists had an interview session with Dana International in the City Hall of Antwerp in August. After which she performed a 30 minute concert open air to the fans including her winning Eurovision entry from the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 - "Diva". Dana International is also part of the line of up the OGAE Luxembourg Eurovision Galanight 2016 on 22 October 2016. For details there go to www.galanight.net.

 

Interview with Elisabeth Andreassen (Norway 1996, Norway 1985...):  Part of the Eurovision Winning Duo Bobbysocks is Elisabeth Andreassen who together with Hanne Krogh won the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 for Norway with the song "La det swinge". Before forming the Bobbysocks Elisabeth, also known as Bettan, represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 1982 as part of the girl group Chips when "Dag efter Dag" came 8th. "Bettan" has a record as the woman with the most participations in the Eurovision Song Contest, tied with Lys Assia (Switzerland) and Sue of Peter, Sue & Marc (Switzerland). In total she has participated four times, three times in duets (with Kikki Danielsson in 1982 as Chips, Hanne Krogh in 1985 as Bobbysocks, and Jan Werner Danielsen in 1994 with the song "Duett" reaching Number 6) and once on her own when in 1996 Elisabeth became the Runner Up with the song "I evighet". She has participated various in Sweden's Melodifestivalen and that is also where Radio International met Elisabeth earlier in March at the Opening Reception of Melodifestivalen 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The Eurovision Champion Chart - Monacco:  The Eurovision Champion Chart is produced by Craig Mitchell Johnstone in conjunction with the Face Book Group called "Eurovision Champions". On selected Shows Eurovision Radio International produces various one hour shows with the music of the Eurovision Champion Chart as voted for by the fans of Eurovision. The Eurovision Champion this week runs down the entries from Monaco to the Eurovision Song Contest in the order how the fans voted for the songs from Monacco. What is the best Monegasc Song at the Eurovision Song Contest? Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The Dreaded Number 2 Position:  Through the Summer 2016 the Radio International's Eurovision Experts came up with the idea to take a look at the dreaded starting position of the Euroision Song Contest from where no country ever won the Eurovision Song Contest. This week Dermot Manning continues the series and you will be hearing some nice Eurovision oldies as well in this near Eurovision Spotlight. Enjoy the new Radio International Summer series. 

 

Eurovision Under Cover:  This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link. 

Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists:  Radio International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being featured on the show.

Eurovision Quiz:  Scratch your heads and bite your nails at  our weekly Eurovision Song Contest Quiz. Good luck and win a copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the Eurovision Goodies Bag. All you have to do is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send your answers via the website's CONTACTs form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate in the quiz and the draw for the prize. Good Luck!
