Hightlights of the show  Eurovision Song Contest 2016 - The POST EUROVISION DEPRESSION CURE - Dose 6:
The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is over and the best ever Eurovision
Song Contest was staged in the Globen Arena with two Semi Finals and a
Grand Final which was held on Saturday 14 May 2016. The 61st Eurovision
Song Contest was won by Ukraine's Jamala with the song "1944".
Many fans of the Eurovision Song Contest fall into a deep Post
Eurovision Depression as it all is over and the fans part company until
the next year. Radio International is the perfect Post Eurovision
Depression Cure reflecting on the past contest with interviews and

 Interview with Jamala (Eurovision 2016 Winner, Ukraine): At the
end of a new and very exciting voting presentation hosted by last year's
Eurovision Winner Mans Zelmerloew and Petra Mede the thrill was there
till the last moment when Ukraine was announced as the winner of the
Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with a total of 534 points for the song "1944" performed by Jamala.
Prior the Grand Final David Mann chatted with the singer from Ukraine which
you can hear on this week's edition of Radio International.
 Interview with Justs (Lativia 2016): 21 year young Justs who
won the national final in Latvia and with this the ticket to the
Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm to represent his country with
the song "Heartbeat" which was written by last year's Latvian representative Aminata. She had a very successful position at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna with the song "Love Injected"
which came 6th in the Grand Final. In 2016, Latvia opened up the Semi
Final 2 with Justs. He could successfully qualify Latvia for the Grand
Final with a total of 132points in the Grand Final ranking Latvia at
Number 15. Fernando and JP chatted with Justs after his Press

 Interview with Nika Kocharov and the Young Georgian Lolitaz (Georgia 2016): Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was represented by Nika Kocharov and the Young Georgian Lolitaz performing the song "Midnight Gold"
which sucessfully qualified Georgia for the Grand Final and then at the
end of the voting reached Number 20 with the song "Midnight Gold".
Fernando and JP from Radio International chatted to the band in the
Press Centre after their rehearsal and their Press Conference. Listen

 Interview with Samra (Azerbaija 2016): Following in the footsteps of Elnur from 2015, Samra represented Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Miracle"
which qualified Azerbaijan for the Grand Final and at the end of the
voting ranked at Number 17 with 117 points. Radio International's
Fernando and JP caught up with the singer during the rehearal week in

 Interview with Rykka (Switzerland 2016): Switzerland was represented by Rykka at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Last of our kind"
which unfortunately did not make it into the Grand Final from Semi
Final 2 and ranked there at Number 18 when only the Top 10 make it in
the Grand Final. Rykka lives partly in Canada and also Switzerland and
has her own band. Find out more details about her in the interview that
Fernando did with the singer during the rehearsal weeks.

 Interview with Shirley Clamp and Velvet (Melodifestivalen contestants, Sweden): For
those of you who follow the Swedish music scene and the national final
of Sweden, The Melodifestivalen know the two ladies. Shirley Clamp and
Velvet both tried a number of times to win Melodifestivalen and with the
the ticket to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Unfortunately, no luck as yet. Shirley Clamp almost won Melodifestivalen
in 2004 as she reached Number 2 with "Min kärlek" and Velvet took part
three times and the best result for her was in 2006 when she could
advance to the Second Chance of Melodifestivalen with the song "Mi
Amore". The other hit Velvet had was back in 2009 with "The Queen". Both
singers were the Hosts of the EUROCLUB in Stockholm during the
Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

 Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The Dreaded Number 2 Position:
Through the Summer 2016 the Radio International's Eurovision Experts
came up with the idea to take a look at the dreaded starting position of
the Euroision Song Contest from where no country ever won the
Eurovision Song Contest. This week Ross Bennett continues
this brand new series and you will be hearing some nice Eurovision
oldies as well in this near Eurovision Spotlight. Enjoy the new Radio
International Summer series.
 Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins
the team in the studio every week to bring you the news
and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest
such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision
performers, special
concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly
edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics
such as viewing figures in the various countries and more.

 New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists: Radio
International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.
