The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is over and the best ever Eurovision
Song Contest was staged in the Globen Arena with two Semi Finals and a
Grand Final which was held on Saturday 14 May 2016. The 61st Eurovision
Song Contest was won by Ukraine's Jamala with the song "1944".
Many fans of the Eurovision Song Contest fall into a deep Post
Eurovision Depression as it all is over and the fans part company until
the next year. Radio International is the perfect Post Eurovision
Depression Cure reflecting on the past contest with interviews and
reports and of course the music and remixes. The full results of the
contest can be viewed by clicking here.
Interview with Amir (France 2016): A very charismatic singer
France sent into the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 who was also tipped to
be the winner of the 61st Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, it
did not work out this time. Amir represented France with the song "J'ai cherche"
came 6th in the Grand Final on Saturday 14 May 2016. Radio
International's David Mann had the pleasure to chat with Amir during the rehearsal week.
Interview with Iveta Mukuchyan (Armenia 2016): The musical Ambassador for Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was Iveta Mukuchyan who performed the rather modern composition called "LoveWave"
which sucessfully qualified Armenia for the Grand Final and then ranked
at a remarkable Number 7 at the end of the exciting voting sequence of
Eurovision 2016. Iveta speaks fluent German as she grew up in Hamburg
Germany but find out more details about her in the interview that
Fernando and JP did with the beautiful singer from Armenia.

Interview with Poli Genova (Bulgaria 2016): The best ever placed result for Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest as Poli Genova with the song "If love was a crime"
came fourth at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with a total of 307
points. Poli is not stranger to the fan base of the Eurovision Song
Contest since she represented Bulgaria already once before in 2011 with
the song "Na inat" which unfortunately at that time did not
qualify Bulgaria for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest and
reached Number 12 in the Semi Final 2. However, in 2016 Poli achieved
the best ever result for Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest
reaching Number 4 with "If love was a crime". Furher Poli also
hosted the Junior Eurovision Song
Contest 2015 last December from Sofia, Bulgaria. Radio International's
Eric caught up with the singer during the rehearal week in Stockholm.

Interview with Serhat (San Marino 2016): San Marino's Musical Ambassador at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was in fact a Turkish Man by the name of Serhat who
himself is a huge show host on Turkish television where he hosts
amongst others the popuar Turkish version of the game show "Jeopardy".
Further Serhat can add to his credit the Number One song not only in
Germany but also in other countries with the song "Je m'adore". He was hired to represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "I didn't know"
which was performed in its disco version. Unfortunately, San Marino did
not qualify for the Grand Final in 2016 as the song only made it to
Number 12 in Semi Final 1 when only the Top Ten countries advance to the
Grand Final. However, a great personality Serhat chatted with JP and
Fernando from Radio International telling us about his show buisiness
and singing career and his way to Eurovision. Enjoy this great interview
with Serhat on this week's edition of Radio International.
