Eurovision Song Contest 2016 - The POST EUROVISION DEPRESSION CURE - Dose 3:
The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is over and the best ever Eurovision
Song Contest was staged in the Globen Arena with two Semi Finals and a
Grand Final which was held on Saturday 14 May 2016. The 61st Eurovision
Song Contest was won by Ukraine's Jamala with the song "1944".
Many fans of the Eurovision Song Contest fall into a deep Post
Eurovision Depression as it all is over and the fans part company until
the next year. Radio International is the perfect Post Eurovision

Interview with Nicky Byrne (Ireland 2016): The most successful
country in terms of winning the Eurovision Song Contest is Ireland with 7
wins. In 2016 Ireland was represented by Nicky Byrne formerly of Westlife fame. Nicky is a TV and Radio Show Host in Ireland and represented Ireland with the song "Sunlight" lifted off his brand new album entitled SUNLIGHT.
Unfortunately, Nicky could not qualify Ireland into the Grand Final of
the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 as he ranked 15th in Semi Final 2 when
only the Top Ten go into the Final. JP and Fernando met the singer from
Ireland for an interview after his press conference during rehearsal

Interview with Ira Losco (Malta 2016): Already in 2002 a young Ira Losco represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "7th Wonder"
that almost won the Eurovision Song Contest back then coming 2nd. In
2016 she returned to the World's biggest music event to once agin
represent Malta with the song "Walk on Water" which made it into the
Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm and at the end
of the voting sequence the ranked at Number 12. JP met the singer for a
brief chat after the qualified Malta for the Grand Final out of Semi

Interview with Nina Kraljic (Croatia 2016): Croatia returned to
the Eurovision Song Contest after a two year absence and successfully
could qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Nina Kraljic performed the song "Lighthouse"
which ranked 23rd at the end of the Grand Final Voting. Latest news
Radio International received in connection with this year's Croatian
entry is that Nina was awarded the Barbara Dex Award 2016.

Interview with Sanhja (Finland 2016): Finland's Ambassador to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was Sanhja
who unfortunately did not make it into the Grand Final. She ranked
14th in Semi Final 1 which is not enough to qualify Finland for
the Grand Final when only the Top Ten advance into the Grand Final.
The song was "Sing it away"
opening up the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Semi Final 1. Radio
International's Fernando met the singer for a an interview after her
Press Conference during the rehearsal week. The broadcast of the interview is postponed to next week's edition of the show.
Interview with Jamie Lee (Germany 2016): The Winner of the Voice
Germany represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 -
Jamie-Lee Kriewitz performed the song "Ghost" which however, placed
Germany only at Number 26 at the end of the voting sequence of the Grand
Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with a total of 11 points.
After her first press conference Fernando and JP of Radio International

Interview with Sietse Bakker (Event Manager of Eurovision 2016):
Last October Sietse Bakker announced that we will be stepping down as
the Event Manager of the Eurovision Song Contest. Responsible for the
smooth running of the preparation and execution of the Eurovision Song
Contest Sietse Bakker had this posiiton for the last six events of the
contest. Back in 2012 Sietse Bakker came to co-host a four hour edition
of Eurovision Radio International as he joined JP in the studio in the
Netherlands. Radio International's Fernando and JP talked to Sietse
Bakker about Eurovision 2016 as well as his involvement in the contest
after 2016 plus more.
Eurovision Under Cover: This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link. Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists: Radio
International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz
after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the
listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate
