Eurovision Preview Events 2016 - Riga Eurovision Pre-Party and Eurovision in Concert - Live Interview with Rene Romkes:  The National Final Season 2016 is over and all the songs that are competing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden come May have been selected. Various countries invited participating countries to various Preview or Promo Events such as Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam on 09 April 2016, The London Preview Event on 17 April 2016 as well as the Tel Aviv in Israel and for the second time in a row the annual Eurovision Pre-Party in Riga, Latvia which took place on Saturday 02 April 2016. Members of the Team of Radio International were present at this and in collaboration with joinusoneurovision.blogspot.com interviewed many of the artists that were invited in Riga and Amsterdam during the Press Meeting prior to the concerts. Last week Radio International broadcast already the first lot of interviews with artists that went to the Riga PreParty and this week there are a remaining interviews as well as some from Eurovision in Concert on the plan for broadcast. More to come next week and the week after that as well - bringing you the Eurovision artists closer. 

 

Interview with Kaliopi (Macedonia 2016): She is one of the biggest artists of her country and has been representing her country at the Eurovision Song Contest before when in 2012 Loreen won for Sweden with the song "Euphoria" - Kaliopi represented Macedonia back then with the song "Crno E Belo" which reached Number 13 in the Grand Final. Four years on the Macedonian Superstar with a big heart returns to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 to represent Macedonia once more. This time it is with the song "Donna" which will be Song Number 8 in Semi Final 2. Interview with Barei (Spain 2016): JP from Radio International called her Madame Engery when he met her the first time in Riga - Barei from Spain who won the National Final to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 directly qualified for the Grand Final with the song "Say yay". Barei was in Amsterdam at Eurovision in Concert but also at the Eurovision PreParty in Riga on 02 April 2016. That's when JP and Frank chatted with the energetic singer from Spain who went to Malta to get some dancing lessons from Kurt Calleja as far as the dance steps in Barei's performance is concerned. Interview with Justs (Latvia 2016): The Host Act of the Eurovision PreParty 2016 in Riga, Latvia is 21 year old Justs who won the national final in Latvia and with this the ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm to represent his country with the song "Heartbeat" which was written by last year's Latvian representative Aminata. She had a very successful position at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna with the song "Love Injected" which came 6th in the Grand Final. In 2016, Latvia will open up compete in Semi Final 2. Interview with Joe & Jake (United Kingdom 2016):  The United Kingdom will be represented by Joe & Jake at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "You are not alone" and as the United Kingdom is part of the Big 5 countries Joe and Jake do not need to go through the Semi Finals and directly are qualified to sing in the Grand Final. Joe & Jake won the UK National Final earlier on this year after the BBC decided to give the public the choice to select the UK entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Interview with Zoe (Austria 2016):  In the footsteps of The Makemakes who were Austria's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 is Zoe who won the national final in Austria with the song "Loin d'ici" performed in the French language. Zoe received the highest measures applause after her performance in Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam. Austria will perform at Number 12 in Semi Final 1 in Stockholm on 10 May 2016. David and Frank chatted with the young singer at the Press Meeting prior to the Eurovision in Concert performances. Interview with Minus One (Cyprus 2016): Cyrpus will be represented by a band called Minus One who will sompete with "Alter Ego" in Semi Final 1 at Number 11 at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. Alasdair Rendall chatted with the group at the Press Meeting of Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam on 09 April 2016. New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists:  Radio International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being featured on the show.
