Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016: The Malta Eurovision Song
Contest 2016 is the national selection of Malta to select their entry to
the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 to take place in Stockholm, Sweden
come May. On Friday 22 January 2016 20 acts competed for the Top 14
place to advance to the Final which was held on Saturday, 23 January
2016. The Winner of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is Ira Losco
selected by six judges and the Maltese Public by Televoting. The event
took place in the legendary Mediterrranean Conference Centre in Valetta,
the same venue where Glen Vella won with "One Life" in 2011 and Debbie Scerri with "Let me fly"
in 1997 and many others too. The show was organised and broadcast by
Malta's Public Broadcasting Services - pbs and webcast also on

which was broadcast live from the venue three hours before the show

Interview with Maxine Pace (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016): The youngest participant and newcomer to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is 16 year old Maxine Pace who performed "Young Love"
which successfully qualified to the Grand Final of the contest and then
at the end of the voting ranked at Number 5 with this outstanding fresh
song to the event. Well done Maxine and her team for this great result
being a newcomer to the contest. The Team of Radio International met
Maxine during the rehearsal week and had a pleasure of interviewing the
young singer which you can hear on this week's edition of Radio
International.

Interview with Dominic Cini (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016): It was Dominic Cini's
second participation withi the Grand Final of the Malta Eurovision Song
Contest 2016. He has been trying for many many years but never made it
to the Semi Final stage until 2015 and now again 2016 with a song
written by Jonas Gladniskoff and Will Taylor amongst others. Dominc and
his dancing team had the perfect package for a Euroclub classic. Though
the song "Fire Burn" only ranked at Number 13 will be a Euroblub
Classic. The Team of Radio International met the singer during the
rehearsal week and you can hear this interview on this week's edition of
Radio International.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The National Final Season 2016: The National Selection Process of the songs that will represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is well under way. In the last quarter of 2015 Radio International went through the best picks of Sweden's National Final - The Melodifestivalen where our Eurovision Experts selected what they thought is the best songs per year. Sweden will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in the Globen Arena of Stockholm next May with the Grand Final on the 14 May 2016 and the the Semi Finals on 10 & 12 May 2016, respectively. Like in previous years the Radio International Eurovision Experts will be assessing the National Finals 2016 live on Radio International. Alasdair Rendall continues this week with the new season taking a look at the National Finals for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. In addition to the look back of last weekend's selection shows JP will take a sneak look ahead and plays clips of the songs competing in the national final shows in Austria, Switzerland and Denmark. Eurovision UnderCover: This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link. Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists: Radio
International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz
after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the
listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate
