Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016: The Malta Eurovision Song
Contest 2016 is the national selection of Malta to select their entry to
the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 to take place in Stockholm, Sweden
come May. On Friday 22 January 2016 20 acts competed for the Top 14
place to advance to the Final which was held on Saturday, 23 January
2016. The Winner of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is Ira Losco
selected by six judges and the Maltese Public by Televoting. The event
took place in the legendary Mediterrranean Conference Centre in Valetta,
the same venue where Glen Vella won with "One Life" in 2011 and Debbie Scerri with "Let me fly" in 1997 and many others too. Interview with Ira Losco (Malta 2002 & 2016 and Winner of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest): The Winner of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is Ira Losco as selected artist to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. She won the national final with the song "Chameleon".
What needs to be noted though is that the rules of the competition
state that the national final is an artist selection and the song can
still be changed. Ira already represented Malta at the Eurovision Song
Contest 2002 with the song "7th Wonder" coming second in Tallinn,
Estonia. In 2014 she hosted the Malta Eurovision Song Contest together
with the previous year's winner Gianluca Bezzina. Right after this event
the Malta Music Awards took place and Ira Losco was awarded three Malta
Music Awards for 2013. The Team of Radio International were in Malta
for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 and had the pleasure to meet Ira Losco
and chatted with her. You can hear this interview on this week's

from the Semi Final as well as a clip from the Red Carpet on the night
of the national final and then after the Winner's Press Conference. Hear

Interview with Brooke (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Number 2): The Runner Up to Ira Losco is newcomer to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest Brooke who on her first participation was the biggest competitor to Ira Losco with the song "Golden"
she had created and produced in Sweden. You can hear this interview

Interview with Franklin (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Number 3): What an amazing result foryoung singer Franklin in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 as he reached third place with the song "Little Love" in the Final of the contest. It was Franklin's
4th participation in the national final for Eurovision after.the 2015
edition of the competition where he had a song penned by Eurovsion
Winner Alexander Rybak (Norway 2009).

A national final stands and falls with the host or hosts and Malta's
Public Broadcasting Services (pbs) enganged young male model and actor
Ben Camille who lead through the Maltese National Final - the Malta
Eurovision Song Contest 2016. JP had the pleasure to chat with Ben twice
- once after a rehearsal session and then at the Red Carpet event just

International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.
