Eurovision 2007 Interview - Edsilia Rombley (Netherlands)
ImageEdsilia Rombley is no stranger to the World of the Eurovision Song Contest. Already back in 1998, she competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in Birmingham, United Kingdom, where she gained 150 points and placed 4th with the song "Hemel En Aarde" (Heaven And Earth). This was the best result the Netherlands had achieved since their final victory of four (1957, 1959, 1969) in 1975 with Teach-In’s “Ding-a-dong”.

Then Edilia was chosen to represent the Netherlands at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in the Semi Final which was held on the 10 May 2007. With receiving only 38 points and thus reaching 21 in the Semi Final the song “On Top of the World”, originally in Dutch “Nooit Meer Zonder Jou", unfortunately did not qualify for the Final of the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest which was staged in Helsinki’s Hartwall Arena in Finland.

On Friday, 20 April 2007, the team of Radio International met Edsilia Rombley at a Press Boat trip on Antwerp’s Schelde River organised by the Belgian Eurovision website www.12points.tv .
