Interview with Sheila Furguson of the Three Degrees: A couple of years ago The Toma Fund of Newcastle in the
United Kingdom organised an amazing event on Wednesday, 11 April 2012 in
the Sage, Gateshead with the involvement of many Eurovision Winners and
performers such as Linda Martin, Johnny Logan, Bobbysocks, Anne-Marie David, Scott Fitzgerald, Scooch, Josh Dubovi, Nicki French, Black Lace
and others. The aim of the event was to raise money in aid of the the
Toma Fund and children suffering from cancer. Details about the Toma
Fund can be found here
and who wishes to donate money for this good cause please see the
website how to donate. Radio International was on location as the only
Eurovision media having the great pleasure to interview the artists
which were already broadcast back in 2012, however, not of one very
famous person that actually was the co-host of the event: Sheila Furguson of the Three Degrees.
JP & Chris took the chance to chat with Sheila about her musical
career and the link to the Eurovision Song Contest. The Three Degrees
had many mega hits in the 70s such as "When will I see you again" and "Dirty ol' man" just to mention a few. Details about the group can be found here. Listen to the interview on this week's edition of Radio International.
Interview with Linda Bengtzing (Melodifestivalen 2005, 2006, 2008 & 2011): Nathan
Wadell from escXtra and Radio International had the big pleasure to
meet and speak to one of the most energetic singers of Sweden who early
last August was part of the guest line up for London's Eurofest - Ms. Linda Bengtzing.
For several years Linda took part at Melodifestivalen which is Sweden's
national selection process to find that song to represent Sweden at the
Eurovision Song Contest but to date could not manage to achieve that
goal. Hopefully in the near future. Details about Linda can be found here
but also Radio International would like to say thank you to escXtra for
the interview with Linda which you can hear on this week's edition of
Radio International.

the many nice songs he has added to the ears of the many Eurovision fans.
Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight XL - The Semi Final entries that should have qualified for the Grand Final: Returning to the airwaves this week and that in a longer version than the usual slot is Marcus Keppel-Palmer who
will
be joining JP for the third hour of this week's edition of
the show to take a look at some of the great Eurovision entries that
actually should have qualified for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song
Contest. This week listen to the choice of JP who selected 20 songs he thinks should have qualified for the Grand Final. Marcus and JP chat
about those entries and of course also play ten of them. Radio
International has received some submissions from listeners and
they will be featured in the weeks to come on the show, however, if
you would like to submit your choice of Semi Final entries that should
have made the Grand Final please send your Top Twenty list of songs to CONTACT and let us know why you select each song.
