ImageInterview with Aarzemnieki (Latvia 2014): Latvia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen by a band called Aarzemnieki which translated means "Foreigners". Indeed, the leadsinger is a foreigner originating from Germany. The song won the national final in Latvia and is called "Cake to Bake" which, however, unfortunately, failed to qualify Lativa for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. It ended up in Semi Final 1 Number 13. However, a great bunch of people and the Team of Radio International got a nice and funny interview with gang from Latvia. Listen to it on this week's edition of Radio International.  You can watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here

Image Interview with Sergey Cetkovic (Montenegro 2014):  For the very first time the small Balkan country of Montenegro qualified for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the nice Balkan Ballad entitled "Moj Svijet" performed by the tallest Eurovision participant of 2014 - Sergey Cetkovic, reaching Number 19 in the Grand Final with a total of 39 points and with this the only Balkan Ballad in the Grand Final. Very much sounding like the 2004 Eurovision entry from Serbia & Montenegro by Zeljko Joksimovic who's "Lane Moje" reached a remarkable second place back then, Sergey appreciates the music of Zeljko a lot as this was one of the things that he told Radio International in an interview after his Press Conference at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Listen to the entire interview on this week's edition of the show.  You can watch this interview on our YouTube Channel - click here for Part 1   |  Part 2

Due to the success of this feature and listeners request Glen Bartlett from Mumbles, Wales, United Kingdom selected 20 songs he thinks should have qualified for the Grand Final. Marcus and JP chat about those entries and of course also play ten of them. Radio International has received some submissions from listeners and they will be featured in the weeks to come on the show, however, if you would like to submit your choice of Semi Final entries that should have made the Grand Final please send your Top Twenty list of songs to CONTACT and let us know why you select each song.
