Eurovision Song Contest 2014 - Radio International Pre-Voting:  The Results.  Thank you to the many fans, listeners and viewers of Radio International who took part in our annual Pre-Voting of the the songs that are competing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Even Eurovison personalities have taken part. Radio International asked the fans to send in their favourite Top 20 of the 37 Eurovision 2014 entries. The result will be published throughout this week's show. At this point Radio International would like to thank Robert Wahlstroem from Gothenburg in Sweden for his active participation in counting all the votes that came in over the past few weeks. Also during the show just before the Number One there wil be a draw amongst of all the voters to give away the CD of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. For that Radio International has engaged a Fairy Godmother. Curious to find out the result and compare it with the real thing on 10 May 2014. Interview with Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014):  One of the most controversial entries in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 is the entry from Austria's Conchita Wurst, who is the bearded lady in the competition singing the Shirley Basseyish James Bond sounding theme "Rise like a Phoenix" which will go into the contest in Semi Final 2 as Song 6. In 2012, Conchita already tried her luck in the national Final of Austria to get the ticket to represent Austria in Baku. But she came only second and the ticket went to the Trackshittaz instead.David and Debbie met the bearded lady at the London Preview event and you can hear the interview on the show this week.

 

Interview with Firelight (Malta 2014):  No strangers to the airwaves of Radio International - the Ultmate Eurovision Experience is Malta's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 and the Winners of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 - Firelight. Richard and Michelle from the group came to Amsterdam's Eurovision in Concert 2014 to wave the Maltese Flag at this event. The song "Coming Home" will open up the Semi Final 2 in Copenhagen. But also our team in conjunction with W12P met Firelight at the recent London Preview Event and did an interview you can hear in this week's edition of the show.  

 

Interview with Carl Espen (Norway 2014): It was the first time that Norway took part in Amsterdam's Eurovision in Concert on 05 April 2014 when Carl Espen performed the fan favourite ballad "Silent Storm" which will in Copenhagen be starting from potision 3 in Semi Final 2. David and Debbie met the former Ex-Bouncer and Winner of Melodi Grand Prix 2014 at the recent editon of Eurovision in Concert. Listen to the interview on this week's edition of the show. 

 

Interview with Marija Yaremchuk (Ukraine 2014): Following the great success of Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with Zlata Ognevich coming third with "Gravity" as she was carried on stage by Giant Igor., Marija Yaremchuck will represent the Ukraine in this year's Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Tick-Tock" which will be in Semi Final 1 at Song Number 9. Interview with Sergey Cetkovic (Montenegro 2014):  Montenegro will in 2014 try its luck to qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 this time with a Balkan Ballad called "Moj Svijet" performed by Sergey Cetkovic which will start in Semi Final 1 at Song 15. Debbie and Glen met the singer at the recent London Preview Event and send in the interview you can hear on the show this week. Due to lack of time this interview will be postponed to a later broadcast date.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Eurovision 2014 in Regions:  For the next three weeks the Eurovision Experts of Radio International will be taking a look at the 2014 Eurovision entries per region and this week Ross Bennett will close out this series of the Eurovision Spotlight with the western countries that are competing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. In addition, Ross will be telling us his personal favourite but also his tip what could actually win the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.     

 

Kuunkuiskaajat (Finland 2010) release a new album: The two ladies of Kuunkuiskaajat, Susan and Johanna, who represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Työlki Ellää" are working on a new album. Susan and Johanna would like to reach their fans abroad with this message on their new album with crowd sourcing - they're collecting donations from fans and supporters. Kuunkuiskaajat have composed loads of new wonderful songs, and are now looking for fans and supporters to make an album happen.
