Melodifestivalen 2014 - Complete Recap: Melodifestivalen 2014
took place Saturday, 08 March 2014 where Sweden together with an
International Jury selected their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest
2014 to take place in Copenhagen, Denmark next May. After four Semi Finals
and a Second Chance Round and the Grand Final in the Friends
Arena of Stockholm, Sweden sends into the race the amazing Sanna Nielsen
to follow the footsteps of Robin Stjernberg to
represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. This week on
the show listen to some of the interviews the Team of Radio
International did at Melodifestivalen 2014. You

Melodifestivalen 2014 - Interview with Sanna Nielsen (Sweden 2014): What
an amazing national final Swedish TV SVT produced with a live audience
of 30000 in the Friends Arena of Stockholm and the Queen of the show was
crowned after trying for seven times to win Melodifestivalen. "Empty Rooms" Number 2 in 2008 and "I'm in love"
Number 4 in 2011 where the big highights Sanna Nielsen entered in
previous editions of Melodifestivalen. Finally, she won Melodifestivalen
and will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in

Melodifestivalen 2014 - Interview with Helena Paparizou:
She won the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 as a Swedish-born Greek with
the song "My Number One". This year Helena Papariozu entered the Swedish
National Selection Melodifestivalen with the song "Survivor" which
initially had to go into the Second Chance Round from where she then
advanced to the Grand Final of the contest and reached Number 4 at the
end of the Public and Yury Votes were counted. It's been a big pleasure
to chat with Helena Paparizou during the Press Conference which Radio
International shares with the fans on this week's edition of the show.
Melodifestivalen 2014 - Interview with Ace Wilder: Newcomer
to Melodifestivalen is Ace Wilder who entered the competiion with the
song "Busy doin' nothin'". The song became the Runner-up with just two
points difference to the winning act by Sanna Nielsen. Hence, a quick
check of the results were conducted just before the results were mae
public at the end of Melodifestivalen. The Team of Radio International
had the pleasure to interview Ace at the Dress Rehearsal and then again
after the Melodifestivalen Final.
Melodifestivalen 2014 - Interview with Anton Ewald: In
201, we saw Anton Ewald for the first time entering Melodifestivalen
with his song "Just Beggin'" which reach 4th in the Grand Final of
Melodifestivalen 2014. Anton Ewald previously was on stage as dancer with Danny Saucedo in "Amazing" and also was backing Vocalist on various songs. After last year's success he returned to Melodifestivalen 2014 with the song "Natural"
which made it to the Grand Final and reached Number 10. Radio
International had the chance to chat with the fit singer, dancer right
after the Dress Rehearsal on Friday night. Listen to it on this week's
edition of the show.
Melodifestivalen 2014 - Interview with Linus Svenning: Entering the national final of Sweden for the very first time with the song "Broeder" (meaning Brothers) is Linus Svenning.
Radio International had the pleasure to interview the young artist
after the Dress Rehearsal to find out more about him and the sad story
of the song.
Melodifestivalen 2014 - Interview with Oscar Zia: Also a newcomer to Melodifestivalen is 18 year young Oscar Zia who performed the song carrying the famous words of US President Obama when he took office "Yes we can".
The song came 8th in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2014. After
the show Radio International exchanged afew words with the young singer.
Melodifestivalen 2014 - Interview with Alcazar: Coming
third in this year's edition of Melodifestivalen are the veterans of
disco dance tunes Alcazar. Entries such as "Stay the Night" and
"Alcastar" did very well for the group in previous edition of the
Swedish contest to select the best song to represent the country at the
Eurovision Song Contest. This year Alcazar entered with an amazing show
the song "Blame it on the Disco". Radio International chatted with the
three members of Alcazar after the Grand Final.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The National Final Season 2014: With
a start of a
new quarter that means it is also the start of a new feature on
Eurovision Radio International. In the last quarter of 2013 Radio
International went through the history of Denmark at the Eurovision Song
Contest. And over the Christmas Break the national final season has
officially begun. Like in previous years the Radio International
Eurovision Experts will be assessing the National Finals 2014 live on
Radio International. Ross Bennett takes a look at the National Finals and some of the highlights from Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, Montenegro and Portugal.
Eurovision UnderCover: Last week, Radio International started a brand new series on the show featuring Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich
will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest
entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing
the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the
cover. Enjoy the brand new series. Listeners are encouraged to send in
their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the
other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in

International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.
