ImageInterview with Simone de Oliveira (Portugal 1965 & 1969):  In September 2012, OGAE Portugal organised their third Eurovision Live Concert together in and with the municipality of Setubal, Portugal just outside of Lisabon with the participation of many Portuguese artists and International Eurovision performers including Katrina of Katrina and the Waves (United Kingdom 1997), Niamh Kavanagh (Ireland 1993 & 2010) and more. But one special guest of which in particular the Portuguese fans and spectators were especially fond of was Simone de Oliveira who represented Portugal twice at the Eurovision Song Contest in the 1960s. In 1965 she reached Number 13 with the song "Sol de inverno" and then she tried again four years later with the song "Desfolhada" that only reached Number 15 for Portugal. The Team of Radio International was invited to a special dinner organised by OGAE Portugal during which the Portuguese Superstar performed some of her biggest Fado hits after which was a chance to meet the singer and conduct an interview which Radio International is proud to air on this week's edition of the show. Click here to watch the interview with Simone.
