Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year: This
week is also the last regular show of Radio International in the year
2012 including a touch of Festive Season music but with Eurovision
connection. Radio International would also like to take this opportunity to wish our faithful listeners, viewers and fans a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and
we are looking forward to 52 more great editions of Eurovision Radio
International in 2013. Also a special thanks goes to the remote team
members of Radio International that have been working hard to deliver
input to the show including interviews and ideas. And don't miss the Christmas Special on Boxing Day!!!
Swiss National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013: The
National Final of Switzerland selecting their entry to the Eurovision
Song Contest 2013 took place on Saturday, 15 September 2012 in the
Bodensee Arena of Kreuzlingen, Switzerland with the participation of
nine contestants fighting for the ticket to Malmoe come May. Members of
the Team of Radio International were there during and after the show to
conduct interviews. Some of the interviews will be on the show this week
including the Winners. The remaining interview are scheduled for

Interview with Heilsarmee (Switzerland 2013): The Swiss Salvation Army or Heilsarmee from
Switzerland won the National Final and will represent Switzerland at
the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmoe, Sweden in May 2013 with the
song "You and me". Eric, Bert & JP from Radio International
immedeately after the announcement of the winning act interviewed the
lead singer Christopher from the Heilsarmee. You will hear this
interview on the show this week. It is worth to note that the oldest
member of the group is no less than 94 years old and plays the Contra
Bass of the Heilsarmee.

Interview with Sven Epiney - Host of "Die grosse Entscheidungsshow" in Switzerland: Sven
was the host of the national final in Switzerland since 2010 but is
also the commentator of the Eurovision Song Contest for Swiss TV. Eric
and JP chatted with Sven Epiney about the show and the songs and more

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest: This is the last in the current series where Radio International
correspondants take a look at the entries of Sweden to the Eurovision
Song Contest. Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest five times kicking
off with ABBA's "Waterloo" in 1974, followed by the Herreys ten years on in 1984 with "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley". Then with Carola in 1991 when she won with "Captured by a love storm".
Swedish success continued in 1999 when Charlotte Nilssson took the
honours with "Take me to your heaven" and in 2012 Loreen took the trophy
in Baku for the Winning Song "Euphoria". But what about the
other great Swedish entries that did not win. It is time to check them
out on Radio International. This week Alasdair Rendall will be joining the team in the studio to take a final
look at the Swedish entries which will be 2009 till 2012. As from
January 2013 the Radio International correspondents will be assessing
the National Finals to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists: Radio International is
always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop
after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with
many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest
songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans.
On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being
featured on the show. This week listen to the new songs by Anna Vissi and Sirusho, etc broadcast time permitting :)
Euro Friends Song Contest 2012 - Introducing the Grand Finalists with Andy Simon: This
week Andy is back with a special edition of the Euro Friends Song
Contest in search for
the ultimate
Eurovision song
as voted for by the many fans around the world. After many heats and
Eights Finals, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals Andy and JP will this week
introduce to you the Grand Finalists of the Euro Friends Song Contest 2012.
The voting Windows is currently open and will close during this week's
edition of Radio International in the third hour. However, Radio
International will be playing the clips of the 25 Finalists within the
first two hours. You can vote on the website of the Euro Friends Song
Contest you will find here. Vote for your ten favourite Eurovision songs you wish
to see doing well in the contest and also see the Euro-Friends TV
Show as hosted by Andy Simon.
You can also join the Facebook Group here. Then
on 02 January 2013 Andy and Dove will be joining JP in the Radio
International studio for revealing the Top 25 Finalists in the winning
order from position 25 to NUMBER ONE and the Winner of the Euro Friends
Song Contest 2012.
