ImageInterview with Brotherhood of Man (Winners 1976, United Kingdom): The Team of Radio International had the huge honour and pleasure to meet and interview the four members of the Brotherhood of Man who won the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 with the song "Save your kisses for me" which not only won the Eurovision Song Contest but was also a huge commercial success and reached Number One in many European Charts. So thid the follow-up singles "Angelo" and "Figaro". Chris, Pam and JP met the four in their changing room while waiting for their performance in Gateshead in aid of the Toma Fund. The fundraising Eurovision concert had further winners of the Eurovision Song Contest engaged such as the Bobbysocks from Norway, Johnny Logan and Linda Martin from Ireland, Anne-Marie David from France & Luxembourg, Scott Fitzgerald from UK and many more artists. ImageInterview with Birgitta Haukdahl (Iceland 2003):  OGAE Sweden organised their annual Fanclub Convention on 13 October 2012 in the municipalty of Eskilstuna near Stockholm in Sweden. National and International artists were invited to this event such as Joan Franka (Netherlands 2012), Glen Vella (Malta 2011), SINPLUS (Switzerland 2012), Esther Hart (Netherlands 2012), SINPLUS (Switzerland 2012), Birgitta Haukdahl (Iceland 2003) and the Mother of the Eurovision Song Contest - the very first Winner Lys Assus who back in 1956 won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Refrain".  The Team of Radio International was in Eskilstuna, Sweden and conducted interviews with the invited Eurovision artists including with Birgitta Haukdahl from Iceland. Birgitta opened the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with the song "Open your heart" which ranked  8th at the end of the night. Enjoy! ImageHome Composed Song Contest 2012 - The Results:  As in previous years Radio International supports the Home Composed Song Contest which is a songwriters competition across Europe and beyond. 2012 marks the 21st edition of the Song Contest and Radio International and listeners formed an international jury voting on the 22 submitted songs to the contest. The Voting Result of the Radio International Jury is available here. This overall results of the 23 juries of the Home Composed Song Contest 2012 have been calculated and will be announced on Radio International this week. As well you can see them on the  website of the Home Composed Song Contest.
 
ImageEurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest: The current series continuous where Radio International correspondants take a look at the entries of Sweden to the Eurovision Song Contest. Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest five times kicking off with ABBA's "Waterloo" in 1974, followed by the Herreys ten years on in 1984 with "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley". Then with Carola in 1991 when she won with "Captured by a love storm". Swedish success continued in 1999 when Charlotte Nilssson took the honours with "Take me to your heaven" and in 2012 Loreen took the trophy in Baku for the Winning Song "Euphoria". But what about the other great Swedish entries that did not win. It is time to check them out on Radio International over the next few weeks.  This week Chris Poppe will be joining the team in the studio to take a look at the early days of Swedish entries which will be 1985 till 1988.
