Interview with Niamh Kavanagh (Winner of Eurovision 1993 for Ireland): On
08 September 2012, OGAE Portugal held their annual Eurovision Live
Concert 2012 in the heart of the Portuguese Municipality of Setubal just
outside of Lisabon. Many artists from the Eurovision Song Contest 2012
took part such as Joan Franka (The Netherlands), SINPLUS (Switzerland),
Ott Lepland (Estonia) just to mention a few but as well as two Winners
of the Eurovision Song Contest were there namely Katrina of Katrina and the Waves who performed her winning entry from 1997 "Love shine a light" and also her international chart success from 1984 "Walking on Sunshine". The second Winner of Eurovision present during the show was Niamh Kavanagh from
Ireland who won in 1993 with the song "In your eyes". She was a repeat offender in returning to the Eurovision stage for a second time with the great "It's for you" in 2010. The Team of Radio
International was backstage to interview some of the artists and is
extremely happy to share with the listeners and viewers the interview with Niamh Kavanagh during this week's
edition of Radio International. At this point Radio International would
also like to thank OGAE Portugal for another outstanding event organised
and looking forward already to the event in 2013.

Home Composed Song Contest 2012 - Deadline for Submissions approaches: As in previous years Radio International supports the Home Composed Song Contest
which is a songwriters competition across Europe and beyond. 2012 marks
the 21st edition of the Song Contest and the 2011 edition was won by
Denmark and this year's edition is hosted by Spain. Contact the website of the Home Composed Song Contest

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest:
A brand new series has started last week where Radio International
correspondants take a look at the entries of Sweden to the Eurovision
Song Contest. Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest five times kicking
off with ABBA's "Waterloo" in 1974, followed by the Herreys ten years on in 1984 with "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley". Then with Carola in 1991 when she won with "Captured by a love storm".
Swedish success continued in 1999 when Charlotte Nilssson took the
honours with "Take me to your heaven" and in 2012 Loreen took the trophy
in Baku for the Winning Song "Euphoria". But what about the
other great Swedish entries that did not win. It is time to check them
out on Radio International over the next few weeks. This week Chris Poppe will be joining the team in the studio to take a
look at the early days of Swedish entries which will be 1963 till 1968.
