Eurovision Song Contest 2012 - in vision:
This week the team is back from the two weeks spent in Baku at the 57th
Eurovision Song Contest. You can see some of the photos here in the

Malta's Fabrizio Faniello releases his European Album in Indonesia: CAPSOUND is the German Record Label the Maltese Singer Fabrizio Faniello is currently signed with. Due to his mega success in Indonesia his current album "When we dance" has been recorded in the Indonesian language BAHASA and in Indonesia the album is called "Kasmaran". Radio International is proud to play his latest single "Aku Punya Dia"
from this album on the show this week. In combination with this there
will be a quiz in which the winner will win a rare copy of the album "Kasmaran" with kind courtesy of CAPSOUND. So make sure you tune in and send your answer to CONTACT by next Tuesday, 24 July 2012. The Quiz Questions are available here.
New Releases by Eurostars:
Recently many past Eurovision performers have been working on new
material releasing new songs and albums. In addition to the new album of
Fabrizio Faniello on the show this week will be Malta's Glen Vella's latest song "Lie" which is available now as well on ITunes. Click here for further details.
Also this week Radio International
has received quite a number of new releases by former Eurovision
performers. Make sure not to miss this week's edition of Radio
International and listen to the new tunes of Fabrizio
Faniello, Glen Vella, Safura, Maria Serifovic, Malcolm Pisani, Ira Losco and Michalis Hatzigiannis.
Interview with Tooji (Norway 2012): Norway has a record in being
on the anchor position at the Eurovision Song Contest and this
tradition continued at the 57th Eurovision Song Contest coming from
Baku, Azerbaijan. Young energetic Tooji represented Norway with the song
"Stay" and after successfully qaulifying for the Grand Final out
of the Semi Final Norway ended up at Number 26. Lilian, Roger and JP
had the pleasure to meet Tooji for a second interview after his press
conference in Baku. Radio International already interviewed Tooji live
on the radio on 04 April 2012 in case you wanna flash back and have a listen to that interview.
Interview with Izabo (Israel 2012): Israel was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 by Izabo.
Founded back in 1989 the band enjoys many successes in their home
country. The song which Izabo performed at the Eurovision Song Contest
is called "Time" and did not do the magic trick and qualify the
country for the Grand Final. The song - a 70s retro piece - only reached
Number 13 in Semi Final 1. Lilian, Roger and JP met Izabo for an
interview right after their first press conference which you can hear in
this week's edition of Radio International. Parts of that interview was
also televised in Israel as Radio International found out shortly
afterwards. Also Shiri from the band gave an interview live on Radio

Interview with Litesound (Belarus 2012): Unfortunately, no success for the Belarussian boyband Litesound who represented Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan with the song "We are the heroes"
which only reached Number 16 in Semi Final 2 when only the Top 10
advance to the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Litesound are
brothers Dmitry and Vladimir Karyakin, Jacopo Massa, Alex Kolchin and
Ignat Yakovich. On 29 April 2012 Eric and JP previsouly interview Dmitr,
Vladimir and Jacopoin Brussels at a promotion event which you can hear here.
In Baku, Lilian and JP had the pleasure to meet and interview all five
members of the band right after their press conference in the Press
Centre. Have a listen to this interview during this week's edition of
the show.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The Host Entries: After
reflecting on the 57th Eurovision Song Contest over the past weeks Radio
International now continuous to present a brand new series with the Eurovision
experts in the UK and Ireland to take you through the summer. The new
series is taking a look at the entries to the Eurovision Song Contest by
the countries that were hosting the contest e.g. this year the
Eurovision Song Contest came from Azerbaijan and the Azeri entry = Host
Entry is Sabina Babayeva. This week it is the turn of Chris Poppe who will be joining the team in the studio to take a look at the host entries of 1963, 1964, 1973, 1983, 1993 and 2003.

Home Composed Song Contest 2012 - Call out for submissions: As in previous years Radio International supports the Home Composed Song Contest
which is a songwriters competition across Europe and beyond. 2012 marks
the 21st edition of the Song Contest and the 2011 edition was won by
Denmark and this year's edition is hosted by Spain. Contact the website of the Home Composed Song Contest
