Interview with Lucia Perez (Spain 2011):
OGAE Netherlands had their very first convention in the Dutch City of
Rotterdam with the participation of Justine Pelmelay (Netherlands 1989),
Nusa Derenda (Slovenia 2001) and Lucia Perez (Spain 2011). The Team of
Radio International was present and conduted interviews with all three
artists. This week listen to Luke Fisher chatting with Lucia Perez on
her time at the Eurovision Song Contest and the time afterwards. Lucia
represented Spain at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Duesseldorf
with the song "Que me quiten lo bailao" reaching Number 23.
Interview with Nusa Derenda (Slovenia 2001): Nusa
Derenda was also star guest on the very first OGAE Netherlands Concert
event on Saturday, 08 October 2011 and performed absolutely amazing many
of her songs and covers of Eurovision Song Contest entries. Nusa Derenda represented Slovenia at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark with the song "Energy"
which came 7th and to date is the highest achivement of Slovenia at the
Eurovision Song Contest. JP & Luke interviewed the charming singer
from Slovenia and you can here it on Radio International this week.

The Sound of Life is Pop - Quiz and tickets to the show to be won: On
Saturday, 22 October 2011 German broadcaster ZDF will be airing a live
show called "50 Jahre Pop Musik" (50 years of Pop Music). To celebrate
the anniversary many pop artists from past and present are invited to
this event. See the website for detailed information here
and of course a list of artists performing. 80s Superstar Kim Wilde is
one of the Co-Hosts of the show that is being transmitted from the
German City of Leipzig. Fabrizio Faniello (Malta 2001 & 2006) with Jones sing the theme song to this event called "The Sound of Life is Pop" which has just been released by Fabrizio's German Record Company CAP-Sound who kindly make available two tickets
for this event. All you have to do is to listen to this week's edition
of Radio International and listen out to the quiz question and send in
your answer. Please note that CAP-Sound are donating the tickets but not
the transportation and accommodation should you win the tickets.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 Spotlight with Michael Goodrich: 13
countries will be taking part at the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song
Contest which will this year come from the capital of Armenia - Yerevan
on Saturday, 03 December 2011. Our US correspondent Michael follows the
National Finals of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and each week will
deliver a summary of what has happened so far. This week in particular
he will feature the Belgian National Selection called Junior Eurosong.
Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Eurovision's Runner Up with Chris Poppe: The second part of the new series this week when our Eurovision correspondents take a chronological look at the songs that came second in the Eurovision Song Contest during the years from 1956 to now whereas 1956 had no known ranking. Chris continuous this week with 1962 to 1966.
Home Composed Song Contest 2011: 02 October 2011 was the last
submission day for competing songs in this year's competition. And with
this the official voting season for the Home Composed Song Contest
2011has started with an amazing record number of 38 entries have been submitted. Last year's
event was won by the United Kingdom which like at the Eurovision Song
Contest means that the winning country will virtually host the following
year's contest. Andy Brooks is the prime organiser of the event and has
launched the website which you can visit here
and see the further details, listen again to the songs and cast your
vote until the end of October 2011 and may the best home composed song win. :)
