The Big Fabrizio Faniello Quiz 2011 - The Draw of the Winner & Interview with Fabrizo Faniello (Malta 2001, 2006):  Radio International in collaboration with CAPSOUND from Germany which is Fabrizio Faniello's record lable started the Fabrizio Faniello Quiz 2011 last August. Fabrizio Faniello's album "No surrender" is featured in this quiz and the successful contestant wins this album which is doing very well in many countries around the globe. Furthermore the successful winner of the Quizz will be awarded with the FABRIZIO NO SURRENDER PACKAGE concisting of: the Fabrizio signed album "No surrender", a poster, a key chain, the singles "Know me better" & "No surrender". Over the weeks Radio International has received correct entries and the idea is to have Fabrizio Faniello come on the show to do the draw from Malta. But also the Team will be chatting a bit with Fabrizio about this album and upcoming plans during a brief interview. Radio International is the very first radio show which had the honours to play the latest song of Fabrizio Faniello during the show this week. The song is called "The Sound of Life is Pop" and is performed together with Jones. In addition, the song is also the theme song to the TV Show "Let's have a party - 50 Jahre Pop" which will air on 22 October 2011 on Germany's ZDF and on 3SAT.  Congratulations go to Ryan Luqa who won the Fabrizio Faniello Quiz.

 

Live Interview with Romanz (Switzerland Pre-Selection 2012): Radio International is delighted to welcome to the show the boyband Romanz who are a four piece band from South Africa. The song "For you (I will build Rome in just one day)" was written especially for the Eurovision Song Contest and since Switzerland opened the competition to everybody the song was submitted for the Swiss National Final for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. Romanz will be joining the team in the studio via phone from South Africa on this week's edition of the show.  In order to get to the Swiss National Final though, Romanz have to receive a large number of votes which you can give to them via this link on their website. Interview with Chiara (Malta 1998, 2005 & 2009):  OGAE Portugal had their annual Eurovision Live Concert in Setubal near Lisboa and Radio International was present to interview some of the performing acts. During the coming weeks these interviews will be aired on Radio International and this week Malta's Chiara will be the first to air. Luke Fisher chatted with Chiara about her upcoming project in the music business and her latest song.  Chiara performed three times at the Eurovision Song Contest coming 3rd in 1998 with "The one that I love", then in 2005 where she almost won with "Angel" being the runner up and in 2009 Chiara had her third attempt to win Eurovision reaching Number 22 in Moscow with "What if we".  

 

 
Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Eurovision's Runner Up with Alasdair Rendall:  A brand new series starts this week where our Eurovision correspondents take a chronological look at the songs that came second in the Eurovision Song Contest during the years from 1956 to now whereas 1956 had no known ranking. Ally starts this week with 1957 to 1961. 

 

Home Composed Song Contest 2011: 02 October 2011 was the last submission day for competing songs in this year's competition. And with this the official voting season for the Home Composed Song Contest 2011has started with an amazing record number of 38 entries have been submitted. Last year's event was won by the United Kingdom which like at the Eurovision Song Contest means that the winning country will virtually host the following year's contest. Andy Brooks is the prime organiser of the event and has launched the website which you can visit here and see the further details, listen again to the songs and cast your vote until the end of October 2011 and may the best home composed song win. :)  The Winner will be announced on the 01 or 02 November 2011. Eurovision Song Contest News:  Luke Fisher joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest. Whether it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Luke will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics such as viewing figures in the various countries and more.
