Interview with Thomas Forstner (Austria 1989 & 1991):
The Annual Eurovision Summer Concert took place in Stockholm, Sweden on
Thursday 04 August 2011. 34 acts were part of this fantastic event
which was a mix of Swedish and Eurovision performers from other
countries. Eric Lehmann and JP from Radio International were present and
interviewed some of the artists. Last week Radio International already
broadcast three interviews (D'Nash, Siw Malmkvist and Lotta Engberg). This
week Radio International broadcasts three further interviews with
artists from the Eurovision Song Contest and also Melodifestivalen which
is the national selection of Sweden to the Eurovision Song Contest.
Let's start with Thomas Forstner who represented Austria twice at the Eurovision Song Contest. "Nur ein Lied" came 5th in 1989 for Austria. And then Thomas attempted to win the Eurovision Song Contest for a second time in 1991 with "Venedig im Regen" which reached Number 21.
Interview with Jenny Silver (Sweden, Melodifestivalen 2011): One
of the outstanding entries in the 2011 Melodifestivalen which is
Sweden's national selection to the Eurovision Song Contest, is the entry
of Jenny Silver with the song "Something in your eyes".
The song made it into the Second Chance round but then did not go any
further, nevertheless a huge fans' favourite. JP & Eric met the
singer for an interview during the afterparty of the Eurovision Summer
Concert in Stockholm at the beginning of August.
Interview with Velvet (Sweden, Melodifestivalen 2006, 2008 & 2009):
Another one of Sweden's great artists that attempted to represent
Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest three times but to date did not
make it - yet. It's Velvet. Velvet's first attempt was in 2006 with the
song "Mi Amore" becoming a huge international hit but in
Melodifestivalen it only reached Number 4 in Semi Final 2. Then the
second attempt in 2008 with the song "Deja vu" which reached Number 5 in
Semi Final 1 of the Melodifestivalen. And finally, Velvet attempted
also in 2009 for a third time with the song "The Queen" which reached
Number 6 in Semi Final 3. Hopefully, more luck in one of the future
editions of Melodifestivalen. Good luck - Velvet. Eric & JP met the
singer backstage of the Eurovision Summer Concert 2011 in Stockholm.
