Eurovision Interview with Glen Vella (Malta 2011):  Glen Vella won the Maltese National Final on 12 February 2011 with the song "One Life"  to represent Malta at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Duesseldorf in May. Malta competes in Semi Final 1. Since  Glen Vella won the national final in Malta he is travelling Europe to promote the Maltese entry in the other Eurovision participating country. He was invited to various Portuguese TV shows for interviews and introducing "One Life" to the audience. Then a FIRST EVER happened when Glen was also invited as guest to the Festival da Cancao where he sang a snippet of the Maltese entry 2011. Right after the show Radio International interviewed the young singer who is no stranger to the audience of the show. Listen to the interview in this week's edition of Radio International.  

 

Eurovision Interview with Homens da Luta (Portugal 2011): One of the nicest national final took place last weekend - The Festival da Cancao was held in Lissabon, Portugal where 20 national juries and televoting decided that Homens da Luta will represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Luta é alegria". The Team of Radio International could make a small interview with one of the singers after their victory on stage. Good luck Portugal! You can see some photos of the Team's time there. Festival da Cancao 2011 - Interview wih the Presenter Silvia Alberto: One of the nicest hosts the Team of Radio International,  the viewing public and live audience in the venue could experience. Silvia appeared in a long white dress and presented the show with great charme and professionalism. After the Winner's performance on stage and the end of the show she gave interviews to the journalists. Listen to her opinion on the show and the winning song. 

 

Interview with Rui Andrade (Festival da Cancao 2011, Number 3): During the rehearsals to the show the Team of Radio International had also the pleasure to interview some of the performing artists. Rui Andrade entered with the song "Em nome do amor"(In the name of love). A fantastic voice, if not the best male voice of the competition Rui's entry came third in the Festival da Cancao 2011. Eurovision Interview with Daria Kinzer (Croatia 2011):  While JP and Bert were covering the Festival da Cancao 2011 in Portugal,  Eric Lehmann and Luke Fisher were the rowing reporters in Zagreb where on the weekend the Croatian National Final - DORA was held. Daria Kinzer won and will represent Croatia at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Germany come May with the song "Break a leg" in Semi Final 1. Listen to the interview during the show. 

 

Interview with the Hosts of Melodifestivalen 2011 - Marie Serneholt and Rickard Olsson: Our busy bee Lilian has also crossed the way of the hosts of this year's Melodifestivalen "roadshow" - Marie Serneholt and Rickard Olsson who have been hosting the Semi Finals and will also host the Grand Final on 12 March 2011 when the show will be in Stockholm's Globen which was the home of the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest. Marie and Rickard will be joined by Elsa Billgren. Listen to a short interview Lilian did with the hosts.

 

Interview with Melodifestivalen & Eurovision Song Contest Floor Manager - Henrik von Zweigberg: During her recent trip to the Melodifestivalen Semi Finals Lilian did not leave out one of the most important persons to interview when it comes to big shows such as the Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest. Henrik is the Floor Manager of these great events and he will tell us some stories and what his job entails preparing the numerous Eurovision artists that have their three minutes of fame on the Eurovision stage.  Listen to the interview Lilian sent. 

 

Euro Friend Song Contest 2011 - Start Voting Now for Semi Final 1:  Radio International in collaboration with the Euro Friends Song Contest are in search for the ultimate Eurovision song. Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight: National Finals: The national selection season soon is over. Two more weeks  Radio International will assess the songs with a panel of Eurovision experts. This week Radio International takes a look at the songs for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest from Armenia, Croatia, France, Greece, Israel, Portugal, Slovakia and Ukraine. For that Chris Poppe will join the team in the studio.
