ImageMelodifestivalen 2011 with Lilian Brunell, Interviews with Elisabeth Andreassen and Sanna Nielsen: Sweden's music industry is booming and one of the - if not the biggest music event of the year is the Melodifestivalen which is organised every year in various heats and ends in March with the Grand Final ten songs out of which Televoters and Juries will be selecting the song of the year in Sweden. This song is used to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. Currently, there are many media events going on in Sweden and Lilian Brunell, our rowing reporter, has been at it again. On Monday, Lilian went to one of the many press conferences organised by Swedish Television SVT and was able to interview former Eurovision entrant for Norway - Elisabeth Andreassen who is also 50% of the Bobbysocks who won the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest for Norway with "Let it swing". The second interview you can hear on the show this week is an interview with former Melodifestivalen entrant Sanna Nielsen who competed no less than six times in Sweden's biggest music programme. Sanna is best remembered for her 2008 entry in Melodifestivalen called "Empty rooms" which also became the winner of the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2008. 

 
ImageJunior Eurovision Song Contest 2010: The eighth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place Saturday, 20 November 2010 from Minsk, Belarus where young artists from 14 participating countries competed for the trophy of the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. which was won by Armenia. Congratulations go to Vladimir Arzumanyan for the song "Mama" which received 120 points which is one point ahead of Russia's entry.  Last week Radio International linked up with Fotis in Minsk for an update and also had a look ahead of the songs. ImageEuro Friend Song Contest 2010 - Heat 10 - The Qualifiers:  Radio International in collaboration with the Euro Friends Song Contest will be announcing during the show this week the ten qualifiers of Heat 10 of what the international juries have been voting for. On the Face Book Page of the Euro Friends Song Contest, one could vote for your ten favourite songs in the Eurovision Song Contest amongst the tenth hundred songs of Europe's biggest music competition.  Two weeks ago Radio International revealed the ten qualifiers of Heat 9 and now Heat 10 is closed and the results will be announced during the show by Andy Simon, who is one of the prime organiser of Euro Friends Song Contest 2011.  Heat 11 will start very soon and you can join to vote for your favourite Eurovision songs by clicking on this link which takes you to the Face Book Page of the Event. Remember, you have to be a member in order to join the voting.

ImagehHome Composed Song Contest 2010: Home Composed Song Contest 2010: Radio International continues the support of this songwriters competition also in 2010. Austria virtually is hosting this contest this year and visitors to the website of the OGAE Austria could cast their vote until 31 October 2010 to their favourite songs. Now the voting is over and the calculation starts. In the first week of December 2011 the results will be published by OGAE Austria and Radio International will be broadcasting a special on the results.  
 
ImageInterview with Mave O'Rick from Germany: Further to the result of the Home Composed Song Contest, Radio International is delighted to welcome to the show this week one of the contestants from Germany - Mave O'Rick. The Team will be chatting with Mave about his career and upcoming plans for the future. Spies tell us that he has also submitted an entry in the 2011 preselection phase for Switzerland. Let's find out all about it during the show but there is also a website you can visit to find out more.
