Albania was the very first country in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest selection process that started with the national selections. The final result was that 17 year young Kejsi Tola was successful in the national selection and represented Albania at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, Russia where the 54th Eurovision Song Contest was staged.

First Kejsi had to go through the Semi Final. Her song "Më mërr në ëndërr (Carry me in your dreams)" reached 7th in Semi Final 2 with 73 points with which she reached the Grand Final where she became 17th with 48 points.
