Show 26 November 2008 - Happy 10th Birthday

ImageHappy 10th Anniversary. This week the team of Radio International are in a party mood as the show is now on the air for TEN YEARS. We have been broadcasting RADIO INTERNATIONAL to the EXPATS in the Netherlands and to the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest every week since 28 November 1998. Initially, starting with one hour on a Monday night and then shortly afterwards the show became two hours long and moved to Wednesday night where we are still today.

ImageRadio International Goes.... (Third Hour)       
Radio International goes to the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with a Geir Roenning Special. Geir Roenning was Finland's representative at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest performing this beautiful song "Why". Radio International had the pleasure in meeting and interviewing Geir at the Eurovision Club Convention of the Eurovision Club (EC) Germany on 15 November 2008 in Cologne, Germany. Radio International   (First and Second Hour) 
Sally, Wynn and JP celebrating with a look back over 10 years of Radio International on RTV Katwijk. Wynn tells her story how she got involved and we have some audio flashbacks to our very first show on 28 November 2008.  Also, we have some items especially prepared for that: our Guest List, the Music from 1998, This was then but this is now, birthday wishes and requests from our listeners for which we would like to thank every one of you. We did not have enough time to cover all we wanted in our special 10th Anniversary Show so the story continues next week. But below is what we did do this week.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008
(click for more info) took place Saturday, 22 November 2008 in Limasol, Cyprus. Radio International took a look at the results and also played the winner. Congratulations go to Georgia. Also you can enjoy our weekly Eurovision Song Contest Quiz.

Interview: Louis from the 12points.tv joined us via phone to inform us about a special event that is planned for Saturday, 29 November 2008 in Belgium. It is the 12points party that will take place in De Blauwe Kater in Leuven, Belgium. Find out more by visiting this website. Louis is also the founder of a new service on the internet. It is the 12TV which broadcasts around the clock music videos of Eurovision Song Contest performances. Greece's Epiloges FM
. The velvet voice of Georgios (Gorgi) Kalpakidis from Greece can be heard when he hosts  his weekly two hour Eurovision Radio in Greece on Epiloges FM. The show is available via the Internet and airs every Wednesday from 1700 - 1900 hours CET - just before Radio International. EurovisiO is a weekly radio show produced in the studios of Oradio in Antwerp, Belgium.  It airs every Monday evening from 2200 - 2300 hours and is presented by Philip Vereyken.  A must for Eurovision freaks. Lots of nice Eurovision music, interviews and news - however, in the Flemish language. You can listen to a repeat of EurovisO by clicking here
 
Malta's Eurovision Radio comes from the sunny island presented by Deo Grech on Super ONE Radio every Tuesday from 2045 - 2145 hours. You can contact Deo during the show and request your favourite Eurovision songs. The show is in Maltese mixed with English. Colin Berry, the legendary voice from BBC Radio 2 in the UK now hosts a Saturday Radio Show on BBC Three Counties Radio including a Eurovision Spot. Colin Berry was the spokesperson for the British jury for over 20 years.
