Interview with Sestre (Slovenia 2002): Radio International's JP had the pleasure in meeting Slovenia's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 - the lovely "Sisters" from Slovenia called SESTRE who reached Number 13 in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2002 with the song " Samo ljubezen". Sestre are Tomaž (Marlenna), Damjan (Emperatrizz) and Srečko (Daphne) had been performing together since 2000 under the name Suspender Sisters their act was very popular and the Sisters were invited to many Eurovision fan events such as OGAE Germany and OGAE Luxembourg where JP met them. in Wirtshaus zum Isartal, Munich, Germany with the participation of Eurovision Winners from 1994 Paul Harington and Charlie McGhettigan (Ireland), Nathan Trent (Austria 2017), Omar Naber (Slovenia 2005 and 2017), Manuela Bravo (Portugal 1979) and surprise guests. Tribute to France Gall (Eurovision Winner 1965, Luxembourg): Very sad news hit the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest early last week when it was announced that France Gall had passed away following a long suffering from cancer. France represented Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 and became the Winner with the song " Poupe de Cire, Poupe de son". She also had a major chart success in 1988 right across Europe entitled " Elle Ella l'a". David Mann looks back at the singer's life and music in an extensive Tribute to France Gall on Radio International his week. Rest in Peace - France Gall.
The initially announced interview with Sestre who represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 is postponed till next week due to the Tribute to France Gall.

Interview with Nicole (Eurovision Winner 1982, Germany): The
annual Eurovision Convention of Eurovision Club Germany took place
recently in Cologne's Gloria Theatre in Germany with the participation
of three Eurovision performers of 2017: Norma John (Finland 2017),
Sunstroke Project (Moldova 2017) and Brendan Murray (Ireland 2017). In
addition, two Eurovision Winners were part of the guest lineup. Anne
Marie David who won the Eurovision Song Contest 1973 for Luxembourg,
although being from France with the song "Tu te reconnaitras". The
highlight of the show was Germany's first every Eurovision Winner from
1982 - Nicole - who with the song "Ein bisschen Frieden"
won the Eurovision Song Contest in Harrowgate in Germany back in 1982,
Radio International's JP had the big pleasure to meet all guests and
conduct interviews with artists. Over the next weeks you will hear these
interviews on Radio International starting in January 2018. Although
one is kept for a special Christmas present to the fans and that is the
interview with Nicole which will be broadcast on the show this week. The
second hour of the show is primarily devoted to the Eurovision Winner
and some of her music from the days back when... :) Enjoy this special.
Eurovision Spotlight - Portugal's History in the Eurovision Song Contest:
Portugal for the very first time won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017
in Kyiv, Ukraine last May with Salvador Sobral. As a result Portugal
will be hosting Eurovision 2018 on May 08, 10 an 12. It is a tradition
that Radio International takes a look at the history of the the host
country of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Our Eurovision
experts in the UK and Ireland will each talk about the
Portugal's great Eurovision entries over the years. Listen to Dermot Manning and Alasdair Rendall closing out this particular series. It
will be nice to hear some long forgotten Portuguese classics again on
the show this and next week. The new series will of course focus on the
National Final Season to the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.

Eurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins
the team in the studio every week to bring you the news
and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest
such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision

concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly
edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics
such as viewing figures in the various countries and more.

International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

Eurovision Quiz: Scratch your heads and bite your
nails at our weekly Eurovision Song Contest Quiz. Good luck and win a
copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the
Eurovision Goodies Bag. All you
have to do
is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send
your answers via the website's CONTACTs
form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz
after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the
listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate
in the quiz and the draw for the prize. Good Luck! Next week the quiz returns to the show.
The Eurovision Quiz will be discontinued
until early January when the the show returns to the normal formal from
Studio 1 in the Netherlands.

The
Team of Radio International would also take this opportunity to wish our
listeners and faithful fans and their families, the Eurovision
performers and the Eurovision Family a peaceful and relaxing Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year 2018 with the hope of a better year than
2017 was for many. Radio International will continue also in 2018 with
52 more editions of the show going into the show's 20th Anniversary next
November. On the final show of 2017 Radio International will have
something special again for the Eurovision fans and that is the
Eurovision Champion Chart of 2017 - the songs the fans have been voting
for via the facebook page "Eurovision Champions". It is a very exciting
Chart not to be misse on Radio International on 27 December 2017. On the
first show of 2018 on 03 January 2018 Radio International will be there
with your Eurovision and New Year's Hangover Cure. The more music
